Tidbits: Howie, Cindy, Teddy, and Barry

Screamin’ Howie Dean Finally Makes Some Sense: With nothing to lose, DNC Chairman Dr. Howard Dean
went down a road Democratic officeholders fear to tread. Marginalized in his position by the Obama administration, he dared expose one of the principal flaws in Obamacare: the absence of any move toward tort reform. He further dared to define the reason–fear of the Trial Lawyers Association, which feeds more money into Democratic Party coffers than any other single group: http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/53126.
One should not bite the hand that fees one so, should Obamacare become law, even the most skilled and dilligent doctors will still order test after test, prescribe med after med, lest a rapacious lawyer, like former Senator John Edwards, descend on them.
Silly Cindy Sheehan Re-directs Fire: Poor Cindy.
She gained widespread notoriety by sensationalizing the death of her son, Casey, in Iraq, with Camp Casey squatting outside George W. Bush’s Crawford, Texas compound. Now she has a new enemy, Barack Obama. Complaining that the new president isn’t much different from the old with his Iraq and Afghanistan policies, Sheehan has laid siege to Martha’s Vineyard where the Obama family is vacationing: http://bit.ly/ONmQy.
She’s discovered that the more things change, the more they remain the same but that life as a tool of the left in her capacity of anti-war activist just ain’t the same since the media is much more forgiving when it comes to a president they idolize as opposed to one they loathed.
Dying Teddy Kennedy Got Religion: The “Liberal Lion”
sent a secret note to Pope Benedict XVI last month via delivery-boy extraordinaire, Barack Obama. Having received his first Holy Communion from a pope and first married by a cardinal, Kennedy may have been pleading for a papal blessing; it apparently didn’t work. “In the eyes of the traditionalist wing of the Church, however, Kennedy should have been asking the Pope for forgiveness:” http://bit.ly/eLjR8.
To date, Benedict has made no comment on Kennedy’s death. If and when a comment arrives, it probably will make no mention of Kennedy’s many personal sins nor cite his advocacy of abortion rights nor his endorsement of the goriest of all abortions, what late Senator Moynihan termed infanticide: http://bit.ly/StQU0.
Obama Desecrates the Memory of 9/11: Our president
doesn’t like the word terrorism, so he plays it down as if avoiding the word will make America safer. He’s now taken his naïveté a step further by declaring that the anniversary of the devastating sneak attacks in American history should be “the first National Day of Service and Remembrance” http://bit.ly/FVEEW. “Remembrance?” Fine, and overdue. But “Service?”
Granted the first responders on 9/11 rendered brave and noble, and deadly, service to the nation in the performance of their duties that day. However, to link their recognition to the terrorist horrors visited on the nation and suggest, “Volunteers may choose any kind of activity, from working in a Harlem community garden and mentoring school children to performing music.” The vague idea of “service” could involve almost anything, including ACORN performing community organizing.
Mr. President, on September 11th, 2001 a greater infamy was committed against America than on December 7th, 1941. It should always be remembered and memorialized for what it was, not denigrated as a mere “day of service.”
