Rep. David Scott Looses It When Confronted On Obamacare
J.J. Jackson | August 9, 2009
We have yet another moonbat who is just being hit with questions he cannot answer about the socialized medicine bill winding its way through the halls of Congress but temporarily on hold due to the August recess. Confronted by a doctor about whether or not the Congressman would support yet another socialized medicine plan along the lines of Medicare, Medicaid and even the Massachusetts model and pointing out that such plans do not work, the Representative went off on a tangent to avoid answering the question like a good little Democrat:
“I’m listening to my constituents, OK? These are people who live in the 13th Congressional district, who vote in this district. That’s who I’ve got to respond to. Ok? Right. Alright. That’s everybody with different opinions. So what you’ve got to understand, those of you who are here, who have taken and came and hijacked this event we dealing with here, this is not a health care event! You made the choice to come here!”
He also ranted against the doctor:
“Not a single one of you had the decency to call my office and set up for a meeting!”
However, in a video on the 11Alive site, Dr. Hill, who asked the question, said that he has called Mr. Scott’s office and has been told that the Representative will not be having meeting about the health care reform plans in Congress. Gee, I wonder why? Could it be that he doesn’t have answers for his constituents, which Dr. Hill is indeed one of, despite the accusations?
The facts are that, despite Mr. Scott’s rants that the doctor was “hijacking” this event, is that at the end of this meeting which he attended the floor was indeed opened up to general questions.
It is getting hot out there in August and the Democrats are feeling the heat. Mr. Scott claims that he has lots of people in his district without Health Insurance and that he is going to do everything he can to fix that “problem.” However there is no mention by Mr. Scott about how he justifies that under the Constitution and he also accuses people in the room, I guess those against him and his support for a public socialized option, of not wanting to do anything to change the health care system in the United States.
Bravo Mr. Scott! You have read and regurgitated the talking points well! When in doubt claim that you do not know where you stand and attack those asking you the questions!
Update: Browsing around the web for info on this story, I cannot help but give credit to Allahpundit at HotAir.com for this amusing and obvious tidbit concerning Dr. Hill during his post meeting interview:
“He appears to be in good health during the interview, too, so the SEIU presence at the meeting must have been light.”
