Truth? We Don’t Need No Stinking Truth?

Question. Which of the following statements did Sonya Sotomayor actually make regarding herself and her abilities as a judge?
Was it:
a) “[I] would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would reach wise decisions.”
or was it:
b) “I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male who hasn’t lived that life.”
Ask Senator Leahy and the answer is “a” as he tries to run cover for a woman who actually said “b.” Yes indeed, Mr. Leahy said this in the confirmation hearings today, unable to get his facts right. Mr. Leahy, who is hardly qualified to be a Senator based on the fact that he has spent years tearing down the Constitution and infringing upon the liberty of United States citizens and has yet again proven that he has a little bit of a problem facing the truth head on when that truth is too inconvenient.
In an attempt to scrub the racist remarks (which are racist because they indicate a feeling of superiority based on one’s race) of Sonya Sotomayor from the record, Mr. Leahy does a great disservice to America. But then again, that is nothing new for him.
