So how is that hope and change thing working for you?

It would appear the president and his family has a traveling bug, and it also appears that for the most part the transparent government he promised does not want us to know how much their taxpayer funded visits cost. While it is understandable that he would have to make some trips for official business that does not include a date night to New York City, nor does it include his wife’s vacation to Europe. “You can’t get corporate jets. You can’t go take a trip to Las Vegas, or go down to the Super Bowl on the taxpayers’ dime.” But he can, he is the president. Now you know I have been thinking, and I have been wondering just how many out of work families could live for years on just money spent on one of those trips alone. Hell, how many could live on just the ill fated photo op over the Statue of Liberty? Are we sure they inflated the tires on those jets to maximize fuel economy?
We have how many people out of work? We have how many people worried about losing their jobs? Our government is wanting to tax everything they can get their hands on including taking money left on your gift cards so they can pay for the stimulus and health care and cap and trade and we can still afford for the president his wife and secret service to jet to NYC for the night. I am sure there are many people, you know those who have lost everything who would love to be able just to go out to a burger joint to escape for the evening much less hop a jet to go to New York. The media plays it up as if these are the golden days of Camelot and this is the Kennedy’s, they fawn all over them like they are something special, like we have never had a president before. And all the while they are racking up more frequent flyer miles that you and I will ever see in a life time.
I am sure a lot of families would be grateful if they could afford to go to the beach this year for vacation, but the Obama’s vacation in Europe and he has not even been on the job a year, would you love his job? Walk into your office and announce that you will be taking the company jet and flying your family plus others to Europe and you will be charging all of that to the company, you would be fired. He was going to help the downtrodden, have you seen any of that? He was going to create jobs, we are still losing them, he as going to trim spending, don’t think that worked. While he dines on fine steaks and drinks fine wines, your family is on its second month of pinto beans and cornbread, the man that was going to close the gap of what he considered unfair differences is living the high life and has forgotten all about all that.
As I write this tonight, children in America are going to bed hungry; parents are looking one more time at their bills hoping to squeeze just a few more pennies out of their budget. Someone is packing all of their belongings because they can no longer make the payments on their home, Someone is calling their child at college to tell them they can’t afford to pay for their education any more, the Obama family is sleeping in a plush Hotel room guarded by secret service and having their every need catered to, so how is that hope and change thing working for you?
