Snopes does not do their own research.

I recently contacted Snopes.com because they had on one of their explanations information that was incorrect concerning the Obama care package, this is the page:
http://www.snopes.com/politics/medical/seniordeath.asp
On this page they state that with this health care package you will be allowed to keep your health care and that there will be competition, I let them know that was not entirely true and even gave them the link to the PDF of the bill and asked them to read page 16, this is the response I received back from them:
You are mistaken; that is not what the passage you cite means.
See http://www.nowpublic.com/world/bill-does-not-make-private-health-insurance-illegal
First of all if you notice on this page it screams liberal, secondly they cite the grandfather clause, which yes there is such a thing however a Grandfather clause only exists if you do not change anything after that it does not apply. Also the bill its self defines the grandfather clause as thus:
(a) GRANDFATHERED HEALTH INSURANCE
ERAGE DEFINED.—Subject to the succeeding provisions
this section, for purposes of establishing acceptable
erage under this division, the term ‘‘grandfathered
insurance coverage’’ means individual health insurance
coverage that is offered and in force and effect before
first day of Y1 if the following conditions are met:
1) IN GENERAL.—Individual health insurance
coverage that is not grandfathered health insurance
coverage under subsection (a) may only be offered
or after the first day of Y1 as an Exchange-participating health benefits plan.
Read that closely, it says it refers only to the insurance you have that was in effect before year 1, and only if certain conditions are met, it also tells us individual healthcare insurance is not covered under the grandfather clause. Personally I find offensive that these people who tout that they dispel rumors and only tell the truth would rather than argue the facts based on the bill itself would send me to a liberal website that does nothing more than lip sink the liberal talking points. I will admit reading this thing is a daunting task, as I do not have at my disposal a speed reader but it is only a couple of pages that they were asked to read. I have oft thought that Snopes had a certain liberal leaning when it came down to politics and now I know why. Snopes does not do their own research.
