The original rednecks.

They carried their hunting rifles and little more, oft times starving, most times freezing, they came from farms and churches and walked or rode horses, but mostly they walked and they walked for days. They had no special military training, just the training they had from hunting and the endurance they learned from farming, their foes on the other hand were well trained militia, never at want for supplies and always dressed appropriately for the weather. I am sure if there had been such a word as redneck in those days, the description would have surely fit these men. They were not as refined as their enemy, the were not trained to fight a proper battle, why of what use could they possibly be except perhaps to prepare the field for planting?
But you see, these rednecks did not stand in a line to be shot down they hid in bushes and behind trees and they took the elite army for everything it was worth. These men were good God fearing people who clung to their guns and their Bibles and these men were the ones who fought to bring America to being. Not much has changed in all this time, if you read your Bible and own a gun you are still considered less refined and well, a redneck, er, terrorist. I for one am proud to be in the company of those fine rednecks who fought for and gained our freedom, those rednecks that could not possibly beat a well maintained army. They used what they had available, they used their minds and they were used to suffering so they were able to endure and they are the only reason we exist.
Now you see, if you do not espouse gay marriage, open marriage, if it feels good do it, the blessed one Obama you are now deemed a no good right wing wacko, racist homophobe, redneck, er, terrorist. The American people in all of the years they have lived have never stood for being belittled for their faith, their beliefs and I am one who believes it will not be tolerated much longer. In a country where rights that are set down in the bill of rights are ignored in favor of those that are not there, where freedom of speech is seemingly reserved only for those who wish to trash the country and not those who wish to lift her up, the ire of the people is destined to be raised. Heads up my fellow rednecks, we come from good stock, we are not of the stock of pure leisure, we know of and have endured hard work and bad times, we may not have access to all the tools they have but we have common sense and the ability to use a pitchfork if need be.
We are of a non royal ancestry, we are from the backbone of this country, we are those who work, we are those who think, we are those who know our Lord and Savior and we cannot be defeated. It does not take an Ivy League education to defend your country, it does not require a bachelor’s degree to know what is right and what is wrong, and all it takes is a conscience. Let them think of us as stupid backwoods ignorant rednecks, let them dismiss us as unworthy, let them assume we know nothing and then one day we will join the ranks of the original rednecks.
