Government Discriminatory Screwing of Normal Shacker-uppers

I’ve never been a member of any minority that I know of but I can now better empathize with the discrimination some minorities claim to suffer. Any discriminatory action must be painful to endure but when its source is the government of the United States it is not only painful but infuriating.
A recent article on The American Spectator, “Friends with Benefits,” by George Neumayr reveals the essence of that discrimination in a quotation from the Washington Post, “Barack Obama’s presidential memorandum that decrees in these dark days of recession new ‘benefits to partners of federal workers. . . . [the memo] does not cover domestic heterosexual partners.’ “
If you happen to be a heterosexual worker, you get didleysquat, nothing, nada, zilch in new benefits. They are reserved for homosexuals in the employ of our government.
The tipoff should have been the word “partners,” the preferred term for gay lovers who are, usually, shacking up. As Neumayr writes, “Heterosexual sinners need to hire better lobbyists, or hope that Obama soon finds in his impressively massive heart a new and richer understanding of their attempts at semi-committed love:” http://spectator.org/archives/2009/06/19/fiends-with-benefits.
A GAO employee, a lesbian and ordained “minister” Candy Holmes, told the Post she wants “to believe this is the beginning of equality.”
I must be missing something here. Where is the “equality” and the equity in taxpayer monies being lavished on homosexual shacker-uppers whereas dolts who are normal and living together are getting screwed, so to speak?
Actually, the situation is not a subject for levity since it involves a very serious matter. If our federal government is permitted to discriminate on such benefits, where does it end?
Will heterosexuals next be expected to receive lower wages because they are normal? Will heterosexuals not get promotions because of their normality? Will heterosexuals suffer from other governmental discrimination because they prefer normal sex with “partners” of the opposite gender?
Neumayr exposes the reason for the gay favoritism, though not what lies ahead for the 98% of the population that is normal. Our president “likes” gay people, not in the physical sense, of course. And because he likes them, he doesn’t want them to think that his lie about opposing gay marriage was sincere.
According to Neumayr, “He has made it clear to gay activists, via his wife, that his nominal opposition to gay marriage is political, not philosophical, and that once the coast is clear he will endorse it in every state.”
As for the other 98% of his constituency, Obama must feel he can keep them in line with other perks and earmarks hidden away in his stimulus package. By the time 2012 rolls around, they will have forgotten how they’ve been screwed, relegated to second class citizenship and sent to the back of the bus.
Sadly, he may be right. So, too, is Neumayr. Heteros do need better lobbyists.
