Krauthammer In Joe Klein’s Crosshairs
J.J. Jackson | May 22, 2009
Joe Klein is not as smart as he would like to believe he is. Even while praising, or attempting to praise, a fellow writer in one Charles Krauthammer he had to throw out the sort of nonsensical banter that makes people want to throw away rags that Klein often contributes to like the New York Times. This story has been hitting my email box a lot today so I thought it might be a good idea to comment on it. Mr. Klein said of Krauthammer one of the most mind numbing and thoughtless statements I have heard in a long time by someone obviously trying to knock down a competitor for absolutely frivolous and imaginative reasons.
“There’s something tragic about him, too,” Klein said, referring to Krauthammer’s confinement to a wheelchair, the result of a diving accident during his first year of medical school. “His work would have a lot more nuance if he were able to see the situations he’s writing about.”
What? Joe, what the hell are you smoking? Way to take a pointless dig at a man in a wheel chair who, if you ask me, writes circles around you. Sure I don’t agree with Krauthammer on everything he writes or says, but come on. This is the best you can do to criticize him Joe?
You know Joe, your words would have a lot more nuance if you turned your brain on before speaking.
