Freeze the Fascism Telling the Truth… Even When it Hurts

Carolyn Hileman - The Voice | May 29, 2009

Before I was ever a Tea Party Patriot, I began a blog called Freeze the Fascism, dedicated to clearing some of the smoke away from the political gamesmanship on both sides of the aisle. As a fellow Tea Party Patriot, I would like to invite you to visit this site and sign up to receive the column.

Conservatives must be the guardians, not of the status quo, but of the combined wisdom of five millenia leading to the Founding of this Country. We cannot allow the hubris of a few to strip us of the vision of Liberty that our Founders cherished and secured for us. A vision men and women have died for.

At Freeze the Fascism, I have tried to be honest about problems in both parties. I firmly believe that we must know the truth even when it hurts. The truth is Power corrupts, not just Democratic power or Republican power. We must be vigilant of our Liberties, whoever is at the helm.

My most recent column is entitled “Raise the Drawbridge; The Enemy is at the Gates,” and addresses the belief that we can allow an expansion of government power, trusting that it will not be abused. As I detail, this is a falsehood. The abuses are real and they are not limited to terrorists.
