East Texas Tea Party Patriots

We at the East Texas Tea Party Movement would like to apologize if you have not been receiving updates on the incredible momentum launched by your participation in the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party. We are amateurs at this and recently found that many of our emails were not being delivered to those who registered with us. We believe we have corrected this problem and are excited to tell you about the upcoming July Fourth event.

Independence Day Tea Party
While Tax Day was a day appropriate to protest the Tax and Spend policies of our elected officials, Independence Day is a celebration of the victory of our Founders over the Tyranny of a usurping government. What could be more appropriate than for the Tea Party Patriots to have a festive rally, paying respect to that Vision? We will gather at the Lufkin Expo Center (1200 Ellen Trout Drive) with the doors opening at 4 pm. There will be live music from wonderful local and national talent; booths representing our various Freedoms will be scattered throughout, and food will be available. At 6 pm our program will begin with speakers addressing Independence: Past, Present and Future. We will talk about what Liberty meant to our Founders, what is the status of our Liberty today, and – most importantly – offer solid solutions to restore that Liberty. At dark, we will be perfectly positioned to enjoy the fantastic Fireworks Display at Ellen Trout Zoo, right next door. Please join us and bring your friends and family for a day of fun and Patriotism. Celebrate the Freedom our Founders secured and tell Washington you want it back!

To RSVP, use the Quick Link “Tell Us You’re Coming” at the right. And please forward this email to anyone you feel would like to be a part of this movement, or simply join us on July Fourth.

We Need Your Help
The organizers of this event learned some things last time around and were determined that several issues would be addressed. We wanted to be absolutely certain that we had space for everyone to equally enjoy the event, be out of the hot sun, and have seating available for as many as may need it. Also, we wanted it to be a celebratory and festive atmosphere, enjoyable for the whole family, as The Fourth of July is a day many wish to spend with loved ones.

There are many ways you can help: distributing flyers, writing to your local paper, making banners, working a booth or registration table, post-event cleanup, or simply spreading the word by forwarding this email to others. If you are interested in doing any of the above, please email us back as soon as possible so we can get in touch with you

Finally, while there were generous contributions at the last event, it will not be nearly enough to pay for the more imposing costs of the upcoming celebration. We organizers are committed to this path, and we have and will contribute out of our own pockets to make this a reality. However, there are only a handful of us but there were 2,000 of you. Spreading the financial burden some will lighten it for all. If you are able, we ask you to please take some of this load from us by clicking the “DONATE” link under Quick Links to the right. This will allow you to donate to the cause through Paypal. Your private information will not be available to us, this is completely secure. If you are uncomfortable using online donation, please email back and let us know how we can accommodate your preferred method of contribution. We look forward to seeing you on July Fourth, and thank you for your participation and your Patriotism.

Because we fear the responsibility for our actions, we have allowed ourselves to develop the mentality of slaves. Contrary to the stirring sentiments of the Declaration of Independence, we now pledge “our Lives, our Fortunes and our Sacred Honor” not to one another for our mutual protection, but to the state, whose actions continue to exploit, despoil, and destroy us. – Butler D.
