RSSSee, Obamatons Do Listen When You Hit Them Hard Enough!

It is not easy getting through to someone enthralled by the mere presence of Barack Obama and believing him to be Christ reborn come to save us. We have been seeing how these people react for months now. Usually we have been just content to mock them and hurt their oh so precious feelings. But when they go really over the line with their Obama worship and we decide to make our voices heard, they do actually listen.
A couple days ago in my post Obama Messiah Mania Continues, I talked about a report from WorldNetDaily.com on Michael D’Antuono who had depicted Obama as Christ-like with arms outstretched (as if on a cross) and wearing a crown of thorns.

The depiction of Obama as though he were being crucified as was Christ to atone for our sins is obvious and down right ignorant. To even compare a man to a religious figure like this is insensitive and insulting. Especially to Christians who are actually practicing since Obama stands against so much that the the religion stands for (sanctity of innocent life, that it is wrong to covet and take that which belongs to someone else, etc.). We all know what the response would have been had Obama been depicted as Muhammad. Such would never have been tolerated. But as usual it is ok to offend Christians.
This time however when people flooded Mr. D’Antuono with messages of their outrage he relented and decided to pull the exhibit, feigning surprise that anyone would be offended of course:
An artist who planned to unveil a portrait of Barack Obama in a Christ-like pose with a crown of thorns upon his brow has announced he is canceling the event, due to “overwhelming public outrage.”
Those enthralled with Obama have been testing the edges to see how much they can get away with, especially when it comes as depicting him as a religious icon. Because, let’s be serious, they see him as such. He really is the Messiah come to save them in their eyes and they are so desperate for anything to believe in other than what they see as a stuff old God who is such a downer because He tells them that they cannot just go out and do whatever they want for self gratification.
I am still waiting for the first Church to Obama to be constructed. I shouldn’t joke about it. Because I am sure someone has at least considered it.

I was one of those many Christian/Patriotic/AMERICANS who contacted the so called artist. I am so happy that he realized that Americans will not tolerate this blasphemy!
