Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano continues to demonstrate that she is incapable of protecting America from the threat of Islamic terrorism. She must be fired immediately if our country is going to be safe in the coming years. The latest example of her incompetence to serve as the top person at Homeland Security came when she wrongly claimed this week that the 9/11 terrorists came through Canada to launch the attack, even though not one of the radical Muslims traveled through our northern neighbor. How could the head of our security be so ignorant?

Her earlier statement this week impugning most American conservatives, like myself, as possible terrorists set off another firestorm of criticism of the DHS Secretary. Last week, Napolitano released a report saying that returning veterans from Iraq or Afghanistan should be watched as they could become domestic conservative terrorists.

My son loved this country enough that he gave up his life for it. But under this woman’s leadership he would have been profiled as a possible domestic terrorist when he came home from the war. How outrageous and paranoid it is to suspect our most valiant and loyal warriors?

As a result of the ridiculous report, the FBI went so far as to film the recent tea party protests of loyal Americans because of warnings that conservatives could become terrorist threats. With her ignorance about Islamic terrorism, no wonder she is wasting time examining our troops, anti-tax, pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment and other conservative groups.

It is clear that Napolitano has no clue about the details of what happened to America on September 11, 2001. And she has offended our brave and selfless troops who have protected us since that infamous day of attacks on America’s homeland. Her outlook and priorities are exactly backward and plainly dangerous.

Napolitano is unfit to serve as secretary of Homeland Security and President Obama must fire her before she causes more damage to our country.

Napolitano claimed that the Canadian border is a sieve for terrorists entering America, ignoring the fact that she ignored illegal immigration coming into Arizona while she was Governor.

She said, “Nonetheless, to the extent that terrorists have come into our country or suspected or known terrorists have entered our country across a border, it’s been across the Canadian border. There are real issues there.”

When asked if she was referring to the 9-11 terrorists, Napolitano added: “Not just those but others as well.”

Napolitano’s latest gaffe irritated Canada’s leaders, who reminded her that none of the 9/11 terrorists who destroyed the Twin Towers and hit the Pentagon came through Canada. “Unfortunately, misconceptions arise on something as fundamental as where the 9-11 terrorists came from,” said Michael Wilson, Canada’s ambassador in Washington.

“As the 9-11 commission reported in 2004, all of the 9-11 terrorists arrived in the United States from outside North America. They flew to major U.S. airports. They entered the U.S. with documents issued by the United States government and no 9-11 terrorists came from Canada.”

We don’t think it is that hard to tell the difference from our neighbors in Canada and Islamic terrorists. But what could you expect from someone who thinks that returning troops from Iraq and Afghanistan are a great threat to America. How utterly outrageous!

Napolitano has embarrassed the United States and hurt our veterans. Her “misconceptions,” as Canada’s ambassador called them, are not acceptable and her approach to her job puts everyone’s safety at risk. On the footsteps of her libel against our military veterans and American conservatives, she has proven herself incompetent and ignorant while holding a key post meant to keep our country safe.

My son gave his life because terrorists attacked America on Sept. 11. I still can’t believe that Ms. Napolitano slandered our troops, which includes my surviving son, when she claimed they could become the terrorists. She’s more interested in spying on our men and women who put their lives on the line than the real terrorists who attacked America.

And now she doesn’t even know where the 9/11 terrorists came from? Unbelievable. She has just got to go.
