First Swine Flu Fatality in America: Time for Alarm, President Obama!

America’s cool, calm, and collected president charmed the mainstream media with his sophisticated approach to the swine flu crisis.

Speaking from the relatively safe confines of the Oval Office after he was personally tested for the deadly disease and found to be “swine free,” excepting certain cabinet members of course, President Obama lectured the unwashed masses with the reassuring words that the Mexican flu was cause for “concern, but not alarm.”

Homeland Security boss Janet Napolitano echoed Obama’s benign neglect by announcing that the borders with Mexico would not be closed. Napolitano continued to violate her Constitutionally mandated obligations by demanding that the term “swine” be omitted from public discourse about swine flu, in deference to the agitated pork industry.

Obama and Napolitano made their clarion calls for alarm-free reaction immediately after the U.S. government officially declared the non-swine concern to be a “public health emergency.”

Tragically, a toddler in Texas has died with cause of death attributed to the swine flu.

As reported at CNN, in part:

“ATLANTA, Georgia (CNN) — A child in Texas has become the first fatality from swine flu in the United States, the acting director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Wednesday.

“I can confirm the very sad news out of Texas that a child has died of the H1N1 virus,” the CDC’s Dr. Richard Besser said.
“As a parent and a pediatrician, my heart goes out to the family.

He said the child was about 2 years old.”

With all due respect to President Obama and Secretary Napolitano, it would appear that this crisis is now cause for full- throated alarm, and less “concern” about what to call the damn disease.

Americans are dying because of this killer disease.

Time to do the responsible thing: SHUT DOWN THE BORDER AND BUILD THAT FENCE!
