Overall, I agree with the observations, sentiments and intent of this short article. However, it is not by Pamela Geller, she has simply passed it along.

It is by Tim Woods and has been distributed, in some cases rather mindlessly, to some 390 other web locations. Just Google "I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied history all my life." In some cases it has even been edited, notably altering the last paragraph. Whether Woods made the changes for another site or someone stole 'liberties' with it, we may never know.

Of Hitler, Woods wrote: "he was duly elected to office". The fact is, Hitler was not elected, his party was. Honest minds know that there is no meaningful difference, because it was still Hitler's ideas that were elected. Hitler then came to power via his appointment as Chancellor.

Nonetheless, I've heard and read many Lefties jumping on that mistake. They claim the writer/speaker who makes that error is ignorant of history. They then, by extension, pooh pooh all subsequent arguments. They then brazenly insist, "Democracy works! That is why Americans elected Obama, but the Germans did NOT elect Hitler, he hi-jacked it!" etc. etc.

I also hate redundancies, one of which Woods let in: "promising to re-instill pride once again in the country"
