Star Wars creator George Lucas comes up with some great stories. But at times he doesn’t see how the people he supports, like Barack Obama, are just like the villains in his movies and television spin offs working to accrue power unto themselves in order to control the populace. Well, Lucas is back again and once again supporting the President talking about how great it would be if the rich paid more in taxes.

‘Star Wars’ Director George Lucas Fully Supports Obama’s Economic Approach

By Nicholas Ballasy, Video Reporter(CNSNews.com) – Star Wars director George Lucas “fully supports President Obama’s approach to the current economic problem” and thinks that the salaries of bailed-out bank executives should be capped, according to his spokesperson, who added that Lucas also thinks “rich” people should pay higher tax rates than people who are not rich.
Lucas endorsed Obama’s economic approach through his spokesperson after being interviewed by CNSNews.com about the issue at the Ford’s Theater re-opening ceremony on Feb. 11. Spokesperson Lynne Hale said that some news outlets had “misquoted or quoted out of context” the comments made by Lucas at the time.
“I want to clarify Mr. Lucas’ position,” wrote Hale in an e-mail to CNSNews.com. “George Lucas fully supports President Obama’s approach to the current economic problem. He feels that there should be caps on the salaries of bank executives who are accepting government bailout monies, and he feels that the rich should be taxed at higher rates than those with lesser incomes.”
Of course, I do actually agree with Lucas that anyone foolish enough to take taxpayer dollars should be regulated to the hilt. There is no reason why taxpayer dollars should be used to pay the salaries for CEOs that are not turning profits. But as for his assertion that the rich should pay higher taxes, ok then I officially propose the George Lucas tax.
The George Lucas tax will be a tax on rich people who think the rich don’t already pay enough (50% or more) of their income in taxes. Here is how it works. Whenever someone like George Lucas states that the rich do not pay enough, we will immediately check to see how much extra money above and beyond the currently required taxes of whatever bracket they are in now that they have donated to the federal government voluntarily. If the answer is none (and it always is) they will be slapped into a new tax bracket where they will be forced to pay more. This new federal tax bracket will be 90% and no deductions of any type (even for charity) will be allowed. ALL income they make will be taxed at 90%.
Please note however that all other rich people who don’t shoot off their ignorant mouths will be kept at their current tax bracket. Hey, George shouldn’t have a problem with this based on his statements.
Somehow though I doubt that Mr. Lucas would be too open to this new tax system and would fight hard to keep it from being implemented showing his own hypocrisy.
