“Brothers at War” Premiering in a City Near You

Families United | March 20, 2009

Dear Families United Members and Supporters,

Over the last six years many producers, directors, and filmmakers have attempted to portray the war in Iraq on film. Most of their depictions of what our brave men and women do in Iraq have not been accurate or tries to convey a political message instead of the truth. That trend of misrepresentation ends on Friday when a new documentary “Brothers at War” will begin showing in six different cities.

“Brothers at War” is a story of three brothers – two of which went to war and the third went to find out why. Jake Rademacher sets out to understand the experience, sacrifice, and motivation of his two brothers serving in Iraq. The film follows Jake’s exploits as he embeds himself with four combat units to show unprecedented access to U.S. and Iraqi combat units and what life is like for them in Iraq. The movie also delves into the complexity of the military family and the emotions surrounding deployment of a loved one.
