SECURITIES,
INSECURITIES,
ISLAMOPHOBIA
Despite what the misanthropic H.L. Mencken believed, Americans are not dumb but too often we have been misled and lulled into self-destructive complacency, snookered, if you will. Meet the Press accepting that future assaults are unavoidable is the ultimate example of a free nation’s self-destructive behavior and doing nothing to forestall those assaults is nothing short of madness. Other avenues do exist. They are called prevention and preemption. However, they are not even remotely PC.
Future attacks on the United States can be prevented though accomplishing that security will involve methods that are beyond draconian. As 9/11 Commission Chairman Kean put it, “If you don’t make the defense of the American people your top priority, you’re not doing your job.” (August 13th, 2006) The only real question is whether we have the testicular fortitude to do that job if it means doing the unthinkable. In a nutshell, if and when it comes down to it, do we kill them before they kill us?
It’s at this point our resident naysayers get ready to pull their hair out.
Gasp! What a horrible thought! What disturbed mentality could even ask such a question! How Politically Incorrect! To use our power to threaten or coerce, to bullyeven sworn enemies, would betray our heritage, our history, and our sacred honor.
Those optimists believe that preemption is over-reaction and beneath the contemptand dignity of the United States. That’s very idealistic, all well and good, and all baloney. Should the worst possible scenario actually unfold and we are hit and hurt and staggered, and should those hits and hurts directly affect those optimists, those same hair-pullers would be the first to storm Washington, shriek their fury, and demand their inalienable rights to protection and safety. Then it may be too late. Pre-cataclysm, those same optimists counsel temperance and forbearance.
They always have so why stop now? They refuse to be shushed. . .”
