Senator Byrd Throws Stones From His Own Glass House

J.J. Jackson | February 28, 2009

You could probably count the number of times prior to this that I have ever agreed with Senator Robert KKK Byrd on one hand of a man with no fingers. Yes, Robert Byrd has actually said something that is worth praising him for once again proving my continuing theory that nuts do find a blind squirrel every now and again. It seems Mr. Byrd is a little wary about how President Obama, and make no mistake also one of Byrd’s fellow travelers, is appointing “czars” and the like to handle issues in apparent power grabs.

Sen. Robert Byrd (D-W.Va.), the longest-serving Democratic senator, is criticizing President Obama’s appointment of White House “czars” to oversee federal policy, saying these executive positions amount to a power grab by the executive branch.

In a letter to Obama on Wednesday, Byrd complained about Obama’s decision to create White House offices on health reform, urban affairs policy, and energy and climate change. Byrd said such positions “can threaten the Constitutional system of checks and balances. At the worst, White House staff have taken direction and control of programmatic areas that are the statutory responsibility of Senate-confirmed officials.”

Gee Mr. Byrd, what did you expect Obama to do? He is a Marxist after all and this is how Marxists operate! Being a pretty stern one yourself I would think you would know!

John Bresnahan, the author of this piece, tried however to avoid that inconvenient truth and paint Senator Byrd as someone that actually likes the Constitution despite having ripped it up, spit on it and then used it for toilet paper himself. Exhibit A is the myriad of projects with no Constitutional authority he has funded in West Virginia. Some of which even bear his name. Exhibit B is that he has supported the welfare state (Social Security, Food Stamps, etc. all of which also have no Constitutional authority) over the years.

Mr. Bresnahan claims:

While it’s rare for Byrd to criticize a president in his own party, Byrd is a stern constitutional scholar who has always stood up for the legislative branch in its role in checking the power of the White House.

Byrd a “constitutional scholar”? Don’t make me laugh! Again, I point to his repeated disregard for the Constitution of evidence of this. Nice try at making the Senator sound like he is a reasonable man though. Although such idiocy will not be readily accepted by anyone with a brain who has actually studied history. Maybe in your next article you will do a better job of just sticking to the facts rather than writing lunacy.

How long until Byrd’s racist past gets dredged up by the Obamatons FINALLY after all these years to keep him quiet and marginalize him?
