Does Obama Need A Bailout?

Apparently President Barack Obama can sympathize with people who are in delinquent on their bills because it turns that his campaign owes quite a tidy sum to the city of Chicago months after his assertion to on high. We’re not talking about a few small bills either but rather debts totaling nearly $1.75 million!

Chicago has yet to recoup the $1.74 million cost of President Obama’s victory celebration in Grant Park — despite a burgeoning $50.5 million budget shortfall that threatens more layoffs and union concessions.

“The Democratic National Committee has not yet paid us,” Peter Scales, a spokesman for the city’s Office of Budget and Management, said Thursday after questions from the Chicago Sun-Times. “We’re reaching out to them this week.”

Stacie Paxton, a spokeswoman for the Obama-controlled DNC, explained the reimbursement delay by saying, “We are still looking at various costs and bills.” She would not say whether parts of the bill are disputed.

Wait, so NOW the Democrats are looking deeply into how money is spent and what services were claimed when it is their money? WOW! To think how much crap could have been avoided in the so-called “Stimulus” Bill if Democrats would have gone through that with a fine toothed come and “disputed” unconstitutional expenditures!

Perhaps Obama and the Democrats are in need of a bailout too. I wonder if somewhere in the “Stimulus” Plan there is tucked away taxpayer dollars to cover these costs or at least buy a little bit of forgiveness from the city? For a campaign that raised as much money as it did, who would have thunk that Obama and his crew would have to scrimp on the pennies!
