Being the President of the United States is a can’t win for losing job. I don’t care who you are.
Now we all, even alot of Dems will tell you now they feel Reagan was the best President in the history of the country, but while he served, he was a war monger, an idiot, a baffoon. He was called these things during his entire two term tenure.
When Ford served he was clumsy, a fool, by in large the public portrayed him as unintelligent, these allegations were and are completely false.
Kennedy was revered, Clinton was loved, never mind the fact they both were bold in thier extra marital affairs. Kennedy even doing Mob girlfriends and letting the likes of Santo Trafficante purchase Havannah hookers for him. Yet they name schools and stadiums after this guy. Granted he takes some heat from conservative circles and always has, for the most part though, people in this country speak of him with pride when it really should be shame.
Abraham Lincoln was reviled by millions during his time. People actually were foolish enough to blame him for secession, which is ludicrous, the country was heading in that direction prior to his birth. Slavery was a hot topic decades before he came to be. They lambasted him for Habeus Corpus, never mind Confederate President Jefferson Davis did the same thing.
Alot of comparisons can be made between Ole Abe & Dubya, with the keen eye. Dubya has been accused of cheating Americans out of civil liberties in an attempt to battle an enemy, the same can be said for Lincoln. The country was polorized and in one nasty culture war prior to the civil war. The country was polorized under Bush’s entire tenure. If our cerebral evolutionary scale still had an 1860’s mindset trust me, we would be fighting gays and abortion activists in battlefields today, but we have progressed into a differant people. One that puts a higher meaning to life then we did 150 years ago, if not for that, this would be a bloody time. I’m rambling again.

In short the Presidency can be summed up in one sentence, which is:

You can’t win, you can’t loose and you can’t stop playing the game.
