President Bush Commutes Sentences of Ramos and Compean
J.J. Jackson | January 20, 2009
Well, President Bush did something somewhat right, a rare thing these days what with his abandonment of the free markets and various other idiocies that have been cropping up. On January 19th the President commuted the sentences of former border patrol agents Ramos and Compean who were sentenced to prison for actually defending America’s borders and under the auspices of a fictitious “cover-up” when they shot an illegal alien and drug smuggler in the ass as he was fleeing from authorities.
The commutation is a partial victory and will result in the agents being released on March 20th.
The men should have been given full pardons but apparently President Bush still thinks that an illegal alien has more rights that those tasked with defending our borders. It is just another incident that will cause the grade of the Bush Administration to be lowered a couple notches which is a shame considering it started out so well with a strong response to 9/11 and other terrorist states as well as tax cuts.
