Obamaton Come Latlies?

J.J. Jackson | December 13, 2008

I have been putting off making this observation for a couple weeks because I wanted to make sure that what I was seeing was real. But after several weeks I have been forced to the conclusion that, yes indeed, it is.

You may be aware that prior to the election I was running a bumper sticker poll, registering the number of people with bumper stickers for various candidates on their cars. In the two week long polls prior to the election Barack Obama registered at total of 39 and 41 supporters proud enough to put his name on their car. However, since the election the number of Obama bumper stickers has ballooned as people, apparently not willing to support him prior to the election, have been slapping his name on their cars.

These are the numbers:
November 10-16: 89 bumper stickers
November 17-23: 108 bumper stickers
November 24-30: 107 bumper stickers
December 1-7: 120 bumper stickers

And for the current week, not yet done we are already at 130 Obama bumper stickers!

Obviously a lot of Obamaton come latlies out there it seems. Where were all these die hard Obama supporters in the run up to the election? Or are they just people getting on board with the more of the same agenda and trying to look like they really did care?
