Welcome To My Hill
J.J. Jackson | November 11, 2008
Prior to the election I was getting a lot of nasty emails regarding my article “This Is My Hill” which, in essence, spelled out why I would not be cajoled into voting for John McCain and lead around by the nose by the GOP. Prior to the election emails were very negative with emailers accusing me of everything from being, “a closet Obama supporter running an intricate scam for the past three years to convince conservatives [that I was one of them],” to, “a mental case who doesn’t know the first thing about how to keep the conservative movement strong.”
To be quite honest these emails don’t phase me. Why? Because I know that what I wrote in that article is right. And guess what? Looks like a lot of people are finally starting to wake up and realize that, drop their childish rantings about “party loyalty” and beginning to realize that I had, and still do have, a good point.
Since Saturday emails commenting on “This Is My Hill” have shown a stark turn around in their tone and message. People who had emailed me in the past decrying me have been emailing me to apologize and say that now, in the wake of McCain’s fabulous flop, that they understand.
To those of you I say welcome to the Hill. It never was really just my hill. It was always our hill. I, and a few others, just were the only ones willing to defend it as those too blind to see ran on by following Senator McCain to what was the inevitable conclusion of his campaign; failure.
If those of you that are now flooding my email box telling me about how I was right would have been here sooner maybe we could have stopped the election of an avowed Marxist to the position of President. But I am glad you are here now. Problem is that we have a lot more work to do to correct a problem that got worse because too many ignored it.

Be cautious of those who first assailed and now applaud you. Well fed they vilify for killing a pig but when hungry demand a share of the pork.
