Little Red Hen, updated

Once upon a time, on a farm in Virginia , there was a little red hen who scratched about the barnyard until she uncovered quite a few
grains of wheat. She called all of her Democrat neighbors together and said, ‘If we plant this wheat, we shall have bread to eat. Who will help me plant it?’
‘Not I,’ said the cow.
‘Not I,’ said the duck.
‘Not I,’ said the pig.
‘Not I,’ said the goose.
Then I will do it by myself,’ said the little red hen, and so she
did.

The wheat grew very tall and ripened into golden grain.
‘Who will help me reap my wheat?’ asked the little red hen.
‘Not I,’ said the duck.
‘Out of my classification,’ said the pig.
‘I ‘d lose my seniority,’ said the cow.
‘I’d lose my unemployment compensation,’ said the goose.
‘Then I will do it by myself,’ said the little red hen, and so she
did.

At last it came time to bake the bread.
‘Who will help me bake the bread?’ asked the little red hen.
‘That would be overtime for me,’ said the cow.
‘I’d lose my welfare benefits,’ said the duck.
‘I’m a dropout and never learned how,’ said the pig.
‘If I’m to be the only helper, that’s discrimination,’ said the goose.

‘Then I will do it by myself,’ said the little red hen.
She baked five loaves and held them up for all of her neighbors to
see. They wanted some and, in fact, demanded a share. But the little
red hen said, ‘No, I shall eat all five loaves.’

‘Excess profits!’ cried the cow. (Nancy Pelosi)
‘Capitalist leech!’ screamed the duck. (Barbara Boxer)
‘I demand equal rights!’ yelled the goose. (Jesse Jackson) The pig just grunted in disdain. (Ted Kennedy)
And they all painted ‘Unfair!’ picket signs and marched around and around the little red hen, shouting obscenities.
Then the farmer (Obama)came. He said to the little red hen, ‘You must not be so greedy.’ ‘But I earned the bread,’ said the little red hen.
‘Exactly,’ said Barack the farmer. ‘That is what makes our free enterprise system so wonderful. Anyone in the barnyard can earn as
much as he wants. But under our modern government regulations, the productive workers must divide the fruits of their labor with those
who are lazy and idle.’

And they all lived happily ever after, including the little red hen, who smiled and clucked, ‘I am grateful, for now I truly understand.’

But her neighbors became quite disappointed in her. She never again baked bread because she joined the ‘party’ and got her bread free. And
all the Democrats smiled. ‘Fairness’ had been established. Individual initiative had died, but nobody noticed; perhaps no one cared…so
long as there was free bread that ‘the rich’ were paying for.

EPILOGUE
Bill Clinton is getting $12 million for his memoirs. Hillary got $8 million for hers.
That’s $20 million for the memories from two people, who for eight
years, repeatedly testified, under oath, that they couldn’t remember
anything. IS THIS A GREAT BARNYARD OR WHAT?

Typical GOP smug, elitist response: “All poor are lazy, uneducated, whiny and deserve to starve.”

The fact is, just as many wealthy individuals are lazy, too. People like Paris Hilton and Cindy Lou Hensley McCain who inherited their fortune and didn’t work one minute to earn it – they’re no red hens. Then when the fathers and mothers who DID work hard to get it pass away, stock brokers and accountants work to keep the wealth accruing for these frivolous heirs, ensuring that a dime never trickles down to the impoverished workers both in here in America and at the jobs outsourced across the ocean employing children in sweatshops. You know, the people whose breaking backs these companies were built on.

The whole reason I gave up the Republican party is its total lack of empathy and humanity. Sure, they tout their pro-life credentials — but the truth is, they care about babies only as long as they are unborn. Once their underpaid mothers give birth to them, the GOP washes their hands of these tiny infants. They care more for fetuses than they do the babies that already exist … and the struggling parents who fight to feed them, clothe them, and get them decent medical care.

Sickening hypocrisy. You should be ashamed, Carolyn Hileman, of falling prey to partisan, prejudiced stereotypes.

Angela – I’ll believe you were ever a Republican when pigs fly.

I’ll give you Paris Hilton. But Cindy McCain inherited a business from her father and everyone expected her to sell it (which would’ve put people out of jobs). Instead she decided to actually RUN THE BUSINESS. She did so well, she EXPANDED the business and its value has now doubled (along with her wealth). What about those poor people that work in her company? Well instead of them being out of work, they still have jobs. In addition, MORE people are employed at her company now than were when she took over control of the company.

As for frivolous heirs…are you old enough to remember the Clinton “luxury tax”? It mandated a high tax on new luxury boats. So what did the “rich” do when they wanted to spend their money? They bought used ones or went overseas and boughtthem there. What did that do to the luxury boat business owners here? They lost revenue and many went out of business or had to cut back their workforce. You see… by aiming at “the rich”, the democrats keep hurting the poor. The “rich” still got the item they wished to purchase. The poor ended up getting screwed because the rich stopped spending money on the things that they were employed to produce.

The same holds true for this election… The MEssiah keeps telling us he will redistribute incomes as a matter of “fairness”. Small business owners (most of which earn over $250k) will naturally seek to reduce their tax liabilities so they could remain afloat. So while small business owners will be voting for McCain, those who work for them (and are hoodwinked by the MSM and The MEssiah) could be voting themselves out of a job.

You want companies to stop outsourcing? Fine – petition your elected officials to make your state business friendly (lower taxes, less regulations, etc…). The reason they are going overseas is that the cost of doing business in the US has risen so high for them (taxes, regulations, etc…) that it no longer makes sense to stay.

But dems don’t care… they will continue to demagogue the issue and blame “the rich”. And people like you will fall for it over and over again. Which is exactly what they want. They create the problem…scare you with the problem…blame Republicans and “the rich”…tell you that only they can fix it if you will just vote for them…and the problem never gets fixed (How’s that ‘War on Poverty’ that was started 40 years ago going by the way?).

Far from being “for the common man”…the democrat party is for themselves and their own political power.

You mean the Cindy McCain who while Barack Obama was stumping in Germany was on a relief mission in Georgia with no fanfare? You mean the Cindy McCain that has gone into war zones to help people? You mean the Cindy McCain who has made over 50 such trips in her life, who paid for medical thousands of dollars of medical bills for both her own adoptive daughter and a child she brought back for another couple to adopt?

    That Cindy McCain?

Get your head out of your talking points memo.
