Deportation Numbers Skyrocketing in Northwest

Wash. — Law enforcement agencies in the northwest are cracking down on immigration laws and their efforts are paying off. According to a spokesperson for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, more than 7,300 people have been deported from Washington, Oregon, and Alaska so far this year. That is a 40 percent increase from the same time in 2007.
