FIRE Coalition Holds Immigration Reform Act Workshop in South Carolina
On August 6, 2008 at 6p; the SC State Director, Virginia Faircloth along with our SC Political Advisor, Roan Garcia-Quintana hosted an educational workshop for all city, town, and county councils as well as State Represenatives and the York County Chamber of Commerce. We were honored to have representatives from all levels in attendance for a better understanding of the newly passed HB4400 Immigration Reform Act; that is said to be the toughest piece of legislation yet on Immigration. We surpassed the expectations of our goal and feel confident that everyone left with a better understanding of our Immigration Problem. We plan on approaching our full County Council on Monday, August 18, 2008 at 6pm to ask for Beaufort County’s Lawful Employment Ordinance to be instated in York County’s Un-incorporated County. This is an ordinance that will place civil charges against those employers who are hiring Illegals and will be controlled by an outside contractor who will perform random audits of these businesses annually. With the knowledge of the hurdle we are vastly approaching; we wanted to take a step back to spend more than 20 minutes (which is what we have received for the meeting) to give our council members a better perspective of the Act, the resources our local, state, and federal have available, and to answer any and all questions. In the discussion, there were a great number of points that I feel all counties and local departments should take into consideration: 1. Be sure to formal request that the your Chamber of Commerce endorse this ordinance. 2. Ask your local councils how their “In Fee of Lieu of” Tax Credit is offered to your local businesses. 3. Educate your members on www.wehirealiens.com. This was a very resourceful link that many of our council members and John Spratt’s representatives were very impressed with and found extremely informative. Many stated before leaving that instead of directing to the 1-800 No. for ICE they would began to refer them to the We Hire Alien website. 4. Always thank your members and representatives and Always work together to stop the fight of Illegal Immigration. Remember; most of these representatives are not taking a stand because they condone Illegal Immigration; they are not taking a stand because they simply are not informed enough to make an educated decision in which they can stand behind. K-FIRE Holds Workshop in Lexington, Kentucky
FIRE Coalition partner K-FIRE held a workshop on Saturday to discuss strategies to address the growing illegal alien invasion of Kentucky. K-FIRE founder Doug Roy and the K-FIRE leadership were most gracious hosts to FIRE Coalition’s National Director Jeff Lewis who led the workshop and shared lots of information about the many FIRE Coalition tools they had at their disposal. Special kudos to our new Tennessee Director Ronald Barwick who drove up from Tennessee to participate in the workshop. http://wehirealiens.com and http://sendthetaxman.com were discussed at length, along with http://operationbodycount.com, and the effective utilization of each to educate and inform the public and the elected officials in Lexington and across Kentucky. A healthy blend of Republicans, Democrats, and Independents were present, proving that at least in the FIRE Coalition, illegal immigration is not a partisan political football. Look for thoroughbred strides from K-FIRE in the coming months, and visit their web site below. Contact our Kentucky Director Doug Roy at the email address below to learn what you can do to help K-FIRE and Kentucky in the fight against the largest invasion in world history. For more information: http://www.kfire.us/ ; <!–
