Racism In Political Ads?

From Rasmussen:

Sixty-nine percent (69%) of the nation’s voters say they’ve seen news coverage of the McCain campaign commercial that includes images of Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and suggests that Barack Obama is a celebrity just like them. Of those, just 22% say the ad was racist while 63% say it was not.

However, Obama’s comment that his Republican opponent will try to scare people because Obama does not look like all the other presidents on dollar bills was seen as racist by 53%. Thirty-eight percent (38%) disagree.

Ok, let’s break this down by starting with an understanding of what “racism” is. Racism is a belief in the inherent superiority of a certain race, not necessarily your own. Neither McCain’s recent ad about Obama’s overhyped celebrity status nor Obama’s comment about not looking like other presidents on our money contain any element of “racism”.

Now of course you will have the typical 25% (your moonbat base here in America) that see any comment about Obama as “racist” because they have no other comeback to criticisms of his political ideology so that is not that unusual. As for the 53% that see Obama’s remarks as “racist” I suggest they get a copy of a dictionary. The comments by Obama were certainly “racial” but not “racist”.
