Detroit Mayor in Court on Assault Charges

DETROIT — Detroit’s mayor, Kwame Kilpatrick, has returned to court for a third day this week, this time to determine whether he should stand trial on felony assault charges. The hearing today involves allegations from a sheriff’s detective that the mayor shoved him into another investigator when he was trying to deliver a subpoena to a Kilpatrick friend in July.
