RSSObama Cancels Visit To Wounded Soldiers …

… because he wouldn’t be allowed to electioneer! Despite reports that the Pentagon nixed the visit, it was actually Obama who canceled the trip by not agreeing to abide by Department of Defense policy:
“Sen. Obama is welcome to visit Landstuhl or any military hospital in his official capacity as a United States senator,” Morrell said in a brief interview. “But there is a DoD policy which governs campaigning and electioneering at military facilities that would have to be respected if he were to visit. That distinction was relayed and made clear to campaign, and they made a decision on their own based on that guidance.”
But Obama’s staff has their own version of the “facts” as liberals often do:
Obama adviser David Axelrod told the Chicago Sun-Times that the Pentagon “viewed this as a campaign event and therefore they said he should not come.”
In a briefing to Obama’s travelling press corps, another adviser stopped short of saying they were told to not come but also suggested that even a visit by Obama alone may have been at issue.
So basically it comes down to this – Obama would not be allowed to make the stop part of his campaign for President so he decided not to go. Hey Barack, why not forgo politics to support the troops and say thanks to those men and women that have been injured to give you the opportunity to destroy this nation? Such would actually require you to support the troops however … which you don’t.
