Latinos Fearful After Fremont Immigration Vote

A Fremont Latino business owner didn’t want us to reveal her identity Wednesday even though she’s a U.S. citizen. She spoke under the anonymity due to racial tensions in the town. “There’s lots of legal residents getting phone calls insulting them and telling them to be careful because something could happen to you or your family,” she explained. Some Latinos said Wednesday they likely would have moved if the ordinance had passed. Now some are hoping this debate and tension will cool off.
