1,215 Soldiers Re-enlist In Iraq Ceremony

J.J. Jackson | July 5, 2008

In just a single day, about 1% of all the soldiers currently serving in Iraq re-enlisted in a huge ceremony in Iraq. With all the attention persons like Matthis Chiroux recieve for lying about our soldiers and refusing to be deployed, it is important to note this huge groundswell of support for the war among our soldiers.

This many soldiers re-enlisting in a single day is huge when you consider that there are many more days in the year to come:

CAMP LIBERTY, Iraq – “In serving our nation in war, you are following the footsteps of millions of brave Americans who have done so before you for some 232 years since our founding fathers declared America’s independence on this day in 1776,” said Gen. David Petraeus, a native of Cornwall-on-Hudson, N.Y., who serves as the commanding general of Multi-National Force – Iraq.

With 1,215 U.S. troops standing before him at the Al Faw Palace at Camp Victory July 4, Petraeus gave the oath of enlistment, marking the largest re-enlistment ceremony in history.

God bless each and every one of them!

News about Iraq has been pushed to the back burner by the media as it is increasingly more impossible to report on the mission without reporting good news.
