The Source Responds To Critics
J.J. Jackson* | June 19, 2008
A few days ago I posted a portion of a news report in which Barack Obama denied the claims of the existence of a tape on which his wife reportedly (according to a Democrat mind you) used the term “whitey” to refer to white people. So I emailed The Source to see what The Source’s thoughts were on this.
The Source responded, and I published, “Barack Obama had better be careful as to what he challenges people on and claims.” Well, that launched an avalanche of emails from angry liberals everywhere and they have gotten worse especially since it now appears that such a tape definitely does not exist. I would like to note I never said the tape existed despite what some irrate emailers have claimed.
I simply reported that Obama was denying it and what The Source said as to my questions about it.
So I sent a bunch of these emails to The Source for comment:
Down right amazing some of those emails are. Hopefully you will point out to these foolish Obama supporters that I never said there was a tape. I only said that Barack Obama has to be careful as to what he does and does not deny; as in moving forward.
I said this because I had no knowledge of a tape with Michelle using the term “whitey”. I had heard the rumors of such but could not verify it. I would also like to go on record saying that the only people who claimed to me that there was a tape were Democrat staffers and personnel.
Anyways, there are a lot of Democrat Party operatives scouring through everything they can get their hands on related to Barack Obama looking for dirt on him. He is not well liked and there are a lot of people on the left that don’t want him to be President.
Some of these are former Hillary Clinton supporters that are upset that a man would be nominated over a woman. Some of these are more moderate Democrats that see Barack Obama as just too big of a threat to America and are privately supporting John McCain. Others are just people that Obama has down right ticked off over the few years he’s been in Washington and some of those he has left in his wake from his time as a “community organizer” and state representative.
When I said he needs to be careful about denouncing things it is because there is going to be a lot of things coming out between now and November that are probably not going to be favorable to him except within radical circles of his supporters. Some of these will be lies. Some of these will be truthful. Some will be a mixed bag.
Obama, according to several people I have talked to within his campaign, has what appears to be an attitude of deny anything that is potentially harmful and then worry about spinning it if it turns out to be accurate (see Jerimiah Wright who he went from not being able to denounce over what he claimed were out of context sound bites to denouncing him as not the person he knew once the “sound bite” argument fell apart to leaving the church all together).
That is why I said he needed to be careful.
