Republicans Not Thrilled About McCain
J.J. Jackson* | June 17, 2008
Obama has problems getting support from the more conservative elected members of his party in Congress. McCain has problems getting support from the more conservative elected members of his party in Congress as well as some of the moonbats who have worked their way into party over the years.
At least 14 Republican members of Congress have refused to endorse or publicly support Sen. John McCain for president, and more than a dozen others declined to answer whether they back the Arizona senator.
Many of the recalcitrant GOP members declined to detail their reasons for withholding support, but Rep. John Peterson (R-Pa.) expressed major concerns about McCain’s energy policies and Rep. Walter Jones (R-N.C.) cited the Iraq war.
Rep. Peterson is one of those “more conservative” GOPers I mentioned. Rep. Jones is one of those “moonbat” GOPers that I mentioned. Moving on however, the Republicans are starting to sound more like Democrats:
A handful of other Republicans on Capitol Hill made the distinction between “endorsing” and “supporting,” adding that while they have not endorsed, they do support McCain.
What’s that definition of “is” again?
The definition of “endorse” is “to express support or approval of publicly and definitely.”
Let me be clear. I neither “support” nor “endorse” Senator John McCain for President. But then again I am not a lily-livered, spineless jellyfish of a politician.
