Free State police arrested 14 illegal immigrants and confiscated drugs on Wednesday during a raid on a block of flats in the Bloemfontein central business district.
The building was previously the Maitland Hotel.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Thandi Mbambo said police, municipal security, fire brigade, home affairs, health services and building inspectors took part in the early morning raid, between 2am and 5am, on Wednesday.
“Drugs (cocaine) to the value of R20 000 were found and 14 illegal immigrants were arrested and will appear in court soon.”
