When asked by police to produce identification, it’s best to make sure it’s real. A driver involved in a Wednesday car crash at the intersection of South Fry and the Katy Freeway was arrested for forgery of a government document, a felony, when he gave Harris County officers a fake alien registration card. Officers doubted the card’s authenticity and confirmed it was a fake through the Department of Justice, according to a statement released by the Sheriff’s Office. Gerber Bonilla, 18, told them he bought it at a flea market, according to the statement. Bonilla is being held without bond and may or may not be deported.
