BROCKTON — The arrest of 11 gang members in a two-day federal immigration sweep may help cool down violence in the city as the weather heats up, authorities say. “Tempers can flair with the hot weather and to have this criminal element taken out will be a big help,” Police Chief William Conlon said. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, along with local police, arrested 11 gang members and associates as well as 11 others with criminal records for deportation in a two-day federal operation that ended Thursday.
