If you believe the Mainstream Media push polls the Democrats can’t lose in November since magically the American voters have changed from primarily conservative to primarily liberal. People are employed, jobs are available, people have healthy incomes, inflation is low, interest rates are reasonable, and GDP is growing slowly…. Yet the MSM still calls it a recession! The MSM is absent reporting any progress in the Global War on Terror since it does not meet the media agenda of defeat and might be construed as a Republican success story.
Senate Democrats are trying to deflect attention away from their incompetence on energy by grilling oil executives on their business results which were unavoidable under policies passed by Congress. Congress has once again passed a symbolic bill with no power to effect change on energy whose only purpose is to provide a platform for meaningless sound bites against OPEC. House Democrats are also trying to deflect attention away from victory in Iraq by investigating the Defense Department’s “propaganda” efforts to publicize successes in the partisan media. Meanwhile Nancy Pelosi takes a junket to the Middle East against State Department warnings where she has no role, no credentials, and no one to talk to in Iraq.
If you believe in the American people, Republicans need to run on a new “Contract with America” platform of change for continued economic growth based on low taxes and strong national defense. Until a line item veto capability is available, McCain has pledged to veto any bill with earmarks as a technique to choke off pork spending and make the existing tax cuts permanent. McCain’s health care returns personal choice to individuals as opposed to Democrat’s nationalized health care with a common risk pool and lower levels of care for everyone. Paul Ryan has unveiled a comprehensive entitlement reform package in the House that McCain should embrace as his blueprint for regaining control of the American budget. McCain has articulated a foreign policy principle in Latin America bypassing failed leadership and communicating freedom and democracy directly to the people in the countries. McCain should accept Obama’s challenge to debate foreign policy in order to highlight the naïve approach and failed policies advocated by the Democrat nominee.
Obama is trying to put every negative aspect of his life (his wife, his pastor, his friends, his fund raisers, his campaign workers) off limits so he can only talk about the issues he wants to. Obama came out of the closet supporting same sex marriage, which was only passed by an activist court in California, after being rejected by a majority of voters in the last election. Obama continues to hype his naïve belief that his charisma will charm Islamic fundamentalists to drop their jihad and Israel hatred in exchange for some better jobs and schools. Instead of running from the criticism Obama is now highlighting his appeasement policy as a strength, but foreign leaders will interpret it as weakness just like what happened to Kennedy. Obama is clearly trying to emulate Jimmy Carter in his failed economic policies, lowered expectations, shared miseries, and naïve idealistic and failed foreign policies.
The Democrat “celebrity death match” continues interminably but Hillary Clinton insists on prolonging their agony to the convention hoping against hope that delegates will change their minds. Appeasement, made famous by Neville Chamberlain in 1938, is compromising national’s interests without obtaining an equal or greater concession from the adversary. Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Hillary Clinton, and Barack Obama all “confessed” to the President Bush criticism of “false comfort of appeasement” that was actually targeted at Jimmy Carter. Democrats have a long history of undermining policies abroad and giving aid and comfort to our enemies during times of war first in Vietnam, then the Cold War, and now the Middle East. Despite all the media talking heads babbling on, it took a European to diagnose the real Democrat primary problem as Hillary Clinton’s high negatives translating into people just do not trust her as a potential President!
