Paulbots Try To Overturn Election

Oh, you probably thought the Ron Paul supporters actually believed in the will of the people right? Well, you would be slightly off if you did – what they believe in is their own power. Throughout the GOP primary the Paulbots tried really hard to convince the majority of conservatives and libertarians that Ron Paul was a good candidate. They failed and so did Ron Paul’s candidacy as a result.

So it is time for Plan B – screw the primaries, screw the will of the people and hijack the conventions.

After a super-majority of Ron Paul supporters captured control of the Republican state convention Saturday, state party officials abruptly canceled the event without electing delegates to the national convention.

Early in the day, state delegates supporting Paul’s continued pursuit of the Republican nomination voted through a rules change that forced the state party to abandon its preset ballot of potential national convention delegates and open up the race to the rest of the state delegates.

The vote followed a rousing speech by Paul of Texas, who said his presidential campaign will continue as long as he has support.

But as the convention continued into the evening, chairman Bob Beers said the party’s contract for the hall at the Peppermill Resort Casino had expired and the event would be rescheduled.
“Due to a rules change that left us on an overtime basis, we will recess the convention until a date that we are going to announce next week,” Beers told a shocked crowd, which stood silent for a few seconds before erupting in boos.

The move is an attempt to disrupt the process and overthrow the election and reallocate delegates John McCain has already won by voting in delegates who will vote for Ron Paul instead at the National Convention. His supporters know that their best chance is to attack at the convention level where they can overwhelm the process because the voters expect their will to be carried out. Ron Paul’s supporters believe that they will be able to muster greater numbers at the conventions to see that that does not happen and do an end run around an electorate that doesn’t understand the process is not over in most states.

Ron Paul himself seems to be egging this sort of activity on by his remarks. Quite frankly it doesn’t surprise me coming from a man who claims to be the “tax payer’s best friend” yet is not above requesting unconstitutional earmarks and spending. Deny it all you want Mr. Paul and you Paulbots - hte facts are the facts.

Ron Paul and his supporters are going to continue this sort of activity because they think that Ron Paul is actually a better candidate than John McCain and that means they are justified in acting this way in their own minds.  The problem is that Ron Paul is no better than John McCain.  They are both highly flawed candidates and unworthy of being President. They are both bad choices for conservatives and libertarians to support.

In the end what you see is what I have been saying about the Paulbots for months – that they think they are smarter than the people and that their candidate is the chosen one. In reality they are just as misinformed as your average voter and not above using thuggish tactics to get their way.

What a circus. Ron Paul lost. Get over it. You people support Paul like this think you are like the revolutionaries, but you’re not. What you are like is liberals.
