Obama’s Friend Tony Rezko

Barack Obama sure has some sleazy people orbiting around him, not to mention all the flat out Marxist. The trial of his buddy Tony Rezko is wrapping up:

A federal prosecutor today scornfully denounced political fundraiser Tony Rezko as an engineer of millions of dollars worth of state government fraud.

And Assistant U.S. Attorney Reid Schar says Rezko engaged in “the corrupt use of power and influence to benefit himself and his friends.”

As closing arguments got under way at Rezko’s trial this morning, Schar also said the defendant was part of a wider scheme of corruption that existed in Illinois government.

Prosecutors claim Rezko schemed with a member of 2 state boards to try to squeeze bribes and kickbacks from companies that wanted state business.

Now remember, this is the guy who helped Obama buy his nice swanky residence for less than market value. But I’m sure that like so many people in the Clinton administration who were of questionable character, Mr. Rezko will just be claimed as a guy who was just around – you know, no one special.
