Olympia May Day protesters pound on Governor’s door
KING5.com Staff
OLYMPIA, Wash. – May Day protests for workers’ rights ended up on Gov. Chris Gregoire’s doorstep Thursday afternoon as dozens of people marched into the capitol building to Gregoire’s office.
Protesters also clashed in Downtown Olympia with police who were armed with pepper spray paintball guns.
About 40 protesters, some wearing masks over their faces, also spray painted anarchist symbols on the marble walls and wood doors inside the building.
“Sanctuary now,” the protesters chanted over and over as one man pounded on Gregoire’s door. Officials say Gregoire was not in the capitol at the time.
Border Security
Clearly, Congress has failed to keep its promise to the American people to secure our borders and stop illegal immigration. The nonpartisan Pew Hispanic Center estimates that about 850,000 illegal immigrants enter the U.S. each year, and that the total number of illegal immigrants in the country 12 million.
Sen. Jim DeMint believes America is the land of hope and opportunity that welcomes legal immgrants with open arms. He wants to encourage legal immigrants to come to the U.S., respect our laws, embrace our values, and become American citizens. But for citizenship to have meaning, we must reject amnesty, secure our borders and create a legal immigration system that is a net plus for America.
Sen. DeMint was a leader in the fight against amnesty during the comprehensive immigration debate. He is also one of the original members of the “Border Security and Enforcement First Caucus” which focuses on enhancing both interior enforcement and security at our borders. To ensure we are moving forward, DeMint, along with 11 other senators, introduced various pieces of commonsense immigration legislation, including: a ban on drivers’ licenses for illegal aliens, making English our national language, and worksite enforcement.
As his part of the package, DeMint introduced the “Complete the Fence Act,” which requires the completion of 700 miles of completed reinforced metal fencing along the Southwest border by December 10, 2010. In 2006, Congress passed the Secure Fence Act, which required 700-plus miles of fencing along the southwest border. Unfortunately, the Secure Fence Act only required a deadline for the first 370 miles.
Today, due to years of neglect, our southern border is where the majority of cocaine is smuggled in, and where heroin, marijuana and crystal meth flood into the U.S. Human traffickers smuggle thousands of people across the border to be sold into modern day slavery and prostitution. And an open border is a national security threat that leaves America vulnerable to terrorists and weapons of mass destruction.
As Sen. DeMint has said: “Our nation’s borders are fundamental to our national security and our sovereignty, and we can’t delay any longer. If we want to have a legal immigration system that works, we must have a secure border so we know who is entering and leaving the United States.”
Problematic Protest
The story of a peaceful march that took a turn for the worse
PUBLISHED ON APRIL 13, 2006:
Betty Ortiz, an employee at Valencia Market, on West 29th Street, leaned against a broom just outside the shop, waiting to see pro-immigrant marchers file by.
Ortiz had given permission to her teenage daughters to march, because everyone they know has connections to the immigrant community. It’s important to stand together, she said.
“The people in Mexico are so poor,” Ortiz said. “I think they have the right to work to get their families going.”
The march was staged on Monday, April 10 in objection to HR 4437, a bill that passed the national House of Representatives and would make living here illegally a felony, as well as provide funding to build a wall on the border. Many protesters said they wanted immigration reform that made it easier for people to come to this country and make an honest living.
“One of our messages is an absolute ‘no’ to HR 4437,” said Maryada Vallet, an organizer with humanitarian group No More Deaths. “We’re going to continue being vocal about what principles a comprehensive immigration-reform bill would encompass: permanent residency; a safe, just, humane border; and family reunification.”
Thousands of marchers slowly made their way from a southside church to downtown’s Armory Park, absorbing crowds that lined the streets along the way. The sea of faces included people of all colors and ages, but there were large numbers of young people and children–some walking solemnly hand-in-hand with adults, others splashing each other with water bottles as they darted through the fringes of the march.
“All of our friends are here,” said 13-year-old Melinda Torres, a student at Wakefield Middle School. “We’re all here to support our families.”
But not everyone felt as the marchers did. Standing with his wife at the northwest corner of 10th Avenue and 29th Street–on the opposite side of the road from immigrant supporters–Barry Coe expressed frustration with a government that seemed unwilling to stem the flow of foreigners into the United States.
“The way it is now, they’re displacing a lot of workers in Tucson,” he said, citing his son, who has been unable to get a job in construction, as an example. “They’re not poor immigrants. They’re shopping at Circle K. They’re shopping at Kmart. They’re shopping at Wal-Mart.”
Coe held his sign protesting the loss of American jobs high as wave upon wave of marchers surrounded him a short time later.
Eventually, the march entered Armory Park after snaking through downtown neighborhoods, prompting people to step outside homes and businesses to watch. More supporters, as well as about a dozen non-supporters calling themselves the Border Guardians, were waiting at the park.
Waving American flags and signs saying things like “America not Mexico,” the Border Guardians took a position on a shuffleboard court in the northeast corner of the park, as thousands of people continued streaming in from the south.
Dozens of pro-immigrant marchers then locked arms and formed a ring around the Border Guardians. They turned their backs and beseeched onlookers to ignore the Border Guardians inside of the ring. However, that did not work; bystanders–many of whom were teenagers or young adults–gathered to see what was going on or to shout at the counter-demonstrators.
A man with the Border Guardians, who was wearing white clothes and had tape over his mouth, danced on a Mexican flag. Another man wore a shirt that said “Proud Nativist American.” Perennial congressional candidate and self-avowed racist Joe Sweeney, who stood with the Border Guardians, attempted to chat with reporters who were more interested in monitoring the tension between the two crowds.
Kenneth Moore likened Sweeney to a well-known man in Austin, Texas, who often posed for pictures with tourists wearing a bikini top, a thong and high heels.
“No one pays attention to him, but he’s there all the time,” Moore said. “If he (Sweeney) had a beard, he’d kind of look like him. He’s like the person that you never invite to the party, but he shows up.”
Police later augmented the marchers’ barrier with a ring of their own as the crowd began pushing toward the Border Guardians. One of the counter-demonstrators, Roy Warden, then started insisting that members of the media stand outside the ring, after abruptly pushing a Telemundo cameraman out of the circle. He also shouldered a photographer who he thought was encroaching on the group’s space.
“You need to push out, because when we start burning flags, a whole lot of people may get burned up, too,” he told a woman who was part of the ring surrounding the Border Guardians.
“They’re trying to provoke violence,” said Michelle Golden, as she was shoved around while trying to maintain her part of the human barrier separating the demonstrations. “This is what they do. They want attention.”
“It’s their country, too,” said Democratic state Rep. Tom Prezelski. “A lot of what they’re saying is based on mythology, I think, about America and how this country was settled. They seem to not want to acknowledge that human rights are universal and that our immigration policies are not working.”
The two demonstrations coexisted uneasily for several hours as the rally unfolded on a dais at the opposite end of the park. A few people tossed empty water bottles or bits of trash at the Border Guardians as they took turns using a bullhorn. A full bottle of water also glanced off the side of Warden’s head.
Things quickly turned chaotic, however, after Border Guardians burned two flags at about 2 p.m.
Officers escorted 16-year-old Marisol Luna–who one witness said threw water at one of the burning flags, dousing an officer–toward the nearby downtown station. A large crowd chanting, “Let her go!” followed as she was led away
A man then tried to break through the ring of officers surrounding the girl, and a scuffle broke out. As many as six people were reportedly detained after police, sirens blaring, descended upon the intersection of McCormick Street and Scott Avenue to restore order.
In addition, at least three people, including 14-year old Marina Estrella, were pepper-sprayed as the crowds pressed toward McCormick Street and Scott Avenue.
Estrella, who was coughing, gagging and spitting, could be seen lying on the ground, pouring water over her face. Her mother, Mayte, said an officer pushed her daughter’s head back and sprayed her in the mouth.

WE ARE NOT
HISPANIC OR LATINO!
OUR IDENTITY IS
NOT AS MESTIZOS
NOT AS “RAZA”
EUROPEANS WILL NOT DEFINE
WHO WE ARE
OR WHAT IS OUR LAND
OR WHAT OUR RIGHTS ARE!
Special Note
For All The White Supremacists
Who Have Written That They Are Offended
By Our Politically In-Correct Language
In The Description of European
Crimes and Colonialism:
LEARN TO FACE THE TRUTH,
READ THE BOOKS THAT WE RECOMMEND
(WRITTEN BY WHITES)
THAT WILL TELL YOU
OF ALL THE CRIMES THAT
EUROPEANS HAVE COMMITTED
ON THIS WHOLE PLANET;
THIS TRUTH WILL SET YOU FREE
FROM LIES AND
THE CRIMES OF WHITE SUPREMACY!
ALSO
WE ARE NOT “illegals”, “Aztlan” or Mecha
or “Raza” or Hispanic/Latino.
BUT WE ARE multi-generation citizens of
this nation and this constitution.
We are Indigenous people (not white)
of this continent, without its borders,
united for truth and justice
against all of the European crimes
that have been committed against our people
in the last 500 years.
The first three steps
to liberation
for our people are:
1) A studied knowledge of the truth about our Nican Tlaca ( Indigenous ) history.
Begin here http://www.mexica-movement.org/timexihcah/intromain.htm
2) A disciplined courage that finds honor in intelligently confronting the white supremacists who oppress our people. This includes the White Supremacists of Europe who today control the economy, media, education, culture , and governments of Mexico and “Central America”.
3) A demand for justice for the 500 years of evil that Europeans have committed against our people, evil in: the form of the theft of our continent; the enslavement of our people; and the European-caused Genocide/Holocaust that killed 70 to 100 million, 95% of our people, in some places Europeans killed 100% of our people.
WHAT IS A VENDIDO?
A vendido is one who has sold out his people in exchange for personal advance or personal financial reward from the European colonizer.
A vendido can also be one who hates their own people and who is insanely in love with Europeans and all things European, without financial gain.
A vendido can also be one who sabotages our people in our struggle for liberation.
A vendido is, more simply, one who works against our people.
Here we focus on those who are AGGRESSIVE VENDIDOS. These vendidos have no shame.
Sadly they continue to do their treason because not enough of us are confronting them.
OUR MOST DISGUSTING TRAITORS
This list is just the beginning. We will add to this list as needed. For now we will just list a few of them. In the following weeks and months we will add to the list and explain in more detail why the people on this list are vendidos.
1. Gregory Nava the new king of vendidos for his latest exploitation of Mexican culture and history, while at the same time refusing to hire people of Mexican descent. His latest project is BORDERTOWN. In this film about the killings of the women in Juarez, he hired Antonio Banderas, Jennifer Lopez, Matin Sheen, Juanes, and other non-Mexican descent people in the starring roles of his film.
In the past he tried to do a film on Emiliano Zapata, starring Antonio Banderas (Spaniard). Mexica Movement picketted his film for over a year so that it wouldn’t get made. We were successful. Disney cancelled the project. See more click here
2. Eddie Olmos the old king of vendidos and biggest vendido of all time.
You can link here to see why he is a vendido.
3. Lalo Alcaraz the most unfunny vendido of them all
This vendido promotes the Hispanic/Latino colonizer agenda on our people through his syndicated cartoon strip LA CUCARACHA. He uses “humor” to defile our people. This is the traitor who did LATINO USA with the colonizer traitor Ilan Stavans. Examples of his treason will follow in the next few weeks. See our Mexica Movement article CLICK HERE
4. Richard Rodriguez
This is a long-time vendido who has been confronted at universities and other forums. He persists in promoting his self-hate and insane love of Europeans. He now not only promotes his “American-ness” to our people but also his Catholic agenda: goes something like, “que sera sera, what ever will be will be, be a slave and don’t fight the white man, lick up to the white man”.
5. Sandra Cisneros
This woman, who has the tattoo on her arm with the word “Latina”, promotes the colonial Latino/Latina agenda while making a living from Mexican/Chicana culture. She is very aggressive in promoting this “Latina” agenda to our people. More to come on this vendida.
6. George Lopez
This man has been nominated to be on this list by many of the readers of our website. Perhaps some of you can email us all the reasons this man deserves to be on this list.
THE COLONIZERS
The people on the list that follows are not technically vendidos, since they are not part of our people, but they were born in Mexico, so technically they are Mexican citizens. This is as if George Bush was born in Mexico, therefore he would be Mexican in citizenship, but nothing else would be Mexican about him. Vendido technically applies to the people on the list below because everyone thinks that they are Mexican but in reality they are not Mexican: They are colonials of non-Mexican descent who are promoting the colonial agenda.
1. Carlos Fuentes
This man who is of European descent by both his parents, who by accident was born in Mexico, has proven all of his treason in most of the works that he has written but his book A NEW TIME FOR MEXICO documents his ingratitude and his treason to our people. You should see for your self what he did with his BURRIED MIRROR book and television series that makes an emphasis on the positive of Spain and its culture and all of the negative of the Nican Tlaca of Mexico and Anahuac. This is the monster who suguested that Mexico should put a statue of Hernando Cortez in the Zocalo. This is the man who co-wrote with the Vendido Olmos another book to destroy our people: AMERICANOS. This book says that we should be and call ourselves Americano, or Latino, or Hispanic, but don’t be Nican Tlaca, or Mexican, or even Chicano. We will add more explanation over the next few months….
We would like to say that most Spaniards in Mexico have a better attitude than this monster, but we can’t because he represents that racist-patronizing attitude of most criollos and Spaniards in Mexico.
2. Salma Hayek
This woman of Lebanese descent father and of a Spanish descent mother has shown her ingratitude and her treason to our people. See link by clicking here.
Most Lebanese in Mexico have a better attitude than this woman.
3. Ilan Stavans
This man of Polish Jewish descent born in Mexico of Jewish parents has shown his ingratitude and his treason to our people by promoting the “Hispanic” agenda, which is the same as the “Latino” agenda (His book LATINO USA with the other vendido, Lalo Alcaraz, uses mostly Mexican/Chicano and Anahuac culture to promote “Latino”).
Most Jews in Mexico have a better attitude than this man.
Brown Berets de Aztlan are recruiting
and forming new chapters

Los Angeles, Alta California – May 1, 2008 – (ACN) “The Brown Berets de Aztlan have undertaken an active campaign to recruit more soldiers and form new chapters throughout Aztlan,” said Chairman David Rico yesterday. “We will be having a series of presentations throughout the Southwest starting in San Diego on May 8, 2008,” he added.
David Rico is one of the original founders of the Brown Berets in California and was one of the Brown Beret soldiers that seized and took over land in Barrio Logan in San Diego that later became, the now world famous, “Chicano Park”.
In the first presentation in San Diego, David Rico and other Brown Berets will be speaking on what it takes to be a Brown Beret de Aztlan, what the organization believes in and on future plans. They will also be answering questions.
The first presentation is scheduled for May 8, 2008 from 6:30-9:00 p.m. at the Centro Cultural de La Raza located in Balboa Park at 2125 Park Blvd, San Diego.
After the recruitment campaign, the Brown Berets de Aztlan will be organizing caravans to the state of Arizona where our community is presently under siege by racists and other anti-immigrant elements.
