Border Patrol agents arrested four illegal immigrants after a crash near West Ruthrauff Road and Interstate 10, authorities said. About 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, Border Patrol agents driving north on I-10 signaled a sports utility vehicle’s driver to stop on suspicion of immigrant smuggling, agency spokesman Jesus Rodriguez said. Instead, the SUV left the freeway at Ruthrauff, failed to negotiate traffic and crashed into a flatbed truck on Ruthrauff, said Deputy Dawn Hanke, a sheriff’s spokeswoman. Three men and a woman were apprehended, Rodriguez said. One person who was injured slightly refused treatment.
