ESCONDIDO, Calif. — More than a dozen illegal immigrants — who had been deported for criminal violations — are arrested during a multi-agency raid in Escondido. The arrests took place Wednesday and Thursday, officials said. Authorities said they were seeking as many as 100 illegal immigrants with criminal records that had originally caused them to be deported from the United States. They ended up taking 15 people into custody. The charges on which the deportees were convicted and removed from the country range from assault with a deadly weapon to robbery, battery, grand theft, auto theft, domestic violence and narcotics convictions.
