I’ll be back
I'll be gone for a few days. A trip to the Philippines. I don't know how much posting I'll be able to do while I'm there. It's a pleasure trip. But I'll be back by the 1st of June envigorated, ready to take up the battle once again, and confident that Bush and Maliki will be able to keep things under control while I'm gone. You have to admit, they haven't been doing all that badly of late. Fingers are crossed for Iraq, but you know -- things look better than they have in a long time.
Here’s My Idiot Of the Week
Tuesday I was taking a few minutes while in the car to listen to KDKA radio and Fred Honsberger who had as his guest a man who is causing quite a stir. Mike Norman proprietor of Mulligan’s in Marietta Georgia is one of those racists who think that he is just a little too smart to be caught being a racist. Unfortunately for him, he is wrong - he’s not that smart.
Mr. Norman is selling t-shirts with what is clearly the head and upper body of a monkey holding a banana which say “Obama in ‘08”. While Honsberger was interviewing this mental midget he continually denied that the image was that of a monkey (curiously similar to Curious George) and saw absolutely nothing wrong with the inference that “monkeys”, read black people, are for Obama.
Yes, black people seem to be curiously voting for Obama who also happens to be black in percentages far greater than women are supporting Hillary and white people are support either Hillary or McCain but that is another issue. Calling them monkeys is beyond the pale.
He ducked and dodged the line of questioning claiming that it was Honsberger that must have some sort of chip on his shoulder, etc. and eventually hung up like your typical racist caught arguing with someone ten times smarter than him.
Mike Norman is the sort of retard that gives the race baiters (like Obama, Sharpton, Jackson, etc.) ammunition to throw at people making reasonable and clear comments on their actions.
But you don’t have to take my word for what the shirt looks like. You can see it for yourself and make your own judgment.

ALIPAC RED ALERT!
AMNESTY WARNING. PLEASE TAKE IMMEDIATE ACTION.
We have just learned that sellout Senators Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) and Larry Craig (R-Idaho) have successfully inserted the “Ag Jobs” amnesty components into a defense spending bill.
This amendment has been accepted by the Senate Appropriations Committee and has been added to an Iraq War spending bill.
They could vote on the spending bill today or tomorrow. If the bill passes with this language included it will grant a form of AMNESTY to millions of illegal aliens working on farms.
Take immediate action.
1. Call Dianne Feinstein and Larry Craig and give their staff an earful within reason. Follow-up your call with an e-mail or fax.
2. Call both of your US Senators immediately. If you get a voicemail, leave a message. Tell your Senators NO AG JOBS AMNESTY! NO DEFENSE SPENDING BILL WITH AG JOBS IN IT! Make sure you call, and immediately send a written complaint after calling.
3. Then proceed to call as many other members of the US Senate as possible with the same message. Call them all if you can.
We need a strong and immediate reaction from across the nation to this move by Feinstein and Craig!

California Court Voids Gay Marriage Ban
SAN FRANCISCO (May 15) - In a monumental victory for the gay rights movement, the California Supreme Court overturned a voter-approved ban on gay marriage Thursday in a ruling that would allow same-sex couples in the nation’s biggest state to tie the knot.
I will spare you the pictures
Domestic partnerships are not a good enough substitute for marriage, the justices ruled 4-3 in striking down the ban.
Outside the courthouse, gay marriage supporters cried and cheered as the news spread.
Jeanie Rizzo, one of the plaintiffs, called Pali Cooper, her partner of 19 years, and asked, “Pali, will you marry me?”
“This is a very historic day.
This is indeed an historic day, except for the fact that California has had many such historic days when their voters have been told your vote does not count, so don’t bother…
Hospital attempts to deport comatose woman
PHOENIX, May 14 (UPI) — The family of a Honduran woman who has awoken from a coma at a Phoenix hospital, is fighting government attempts to have her deported, their attorney says. The woman, Sonia del Cid Iscoa, woke up Tuesday after 25 days in a coma brought on by a complicated childbirth, family attorney John Curtin said. While she was unconscious, hospital officials attempted to have her deported because of a lack of adequate insurance coverage, The Arizona Republic reported. The 34-year-old woman, the mother of seven, has been in the United States legally for 17 years under temporary protected status, a classification given to people without valid immigration in cases of disasters in their homeland. The newspaper said Iscoa’s health plan doesn’t cover long-term care, and moved to deport her.
Stop Feinstein’s amnesty in Senate today & shame Pelosi’s kill attempt on SAVE Act in House
THIS IS URGENT FRIENDS,
1. Sen. Diane Feinstein is set to try this afternoon to add an amnesty for illegal-alien ag workers to the Iraq supplemental spending bill. We need your phone calls to stop this.
2. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has strong-armed anti-illegal-immigration Democrats to withhold their support for enforcement and is in the process of killing the SAVE Act for the year — unless NumbersUSA Activist Network users respond in massive counter-attack.
For instructions on phone calls and faxes, go to your Action Buffet corkboard.
Also, you will probably be getting emails later today with direct links to the needed actions. Our cause needs a lot of help today and tomorrow.
STOP FEINSTEIN’S AMNESTY IN COMMITTEE
Our NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team got several confirmations through both Democratic and Republican sources that Sen. Feinstein (D-Calif.) was preparing to add an ag amnesty to the Iraq bill Thursday afternoon in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
We don’t know the details of the amnesty. There is some chance she may try to slip it through by not including permanent legalization but just giving one or two million illegal ag workers a 5-year amnesty that allows them to work and live here while further sinking roots. The open-borders champions hope that the longer illegal aliens stay the more difficult it will ever be to deny them U.S. citizenship.
We need phone calls into the offices of members of the Senate Appropriations Committee — massively and immediately!
202-224-3121
If you live in the state of one of these Senators, please make a phone call immediately.
If you don’t have a Senator on the Committee, you may want to call a Senator in another state with which you have some attachment. We particularly need extra phone calls to Senators from small-population states.
Here are the Appropriations Senators who need your call:
Alexander (R-Tenn.)
Allard (R-Colo.)
Byrd (D-West Va.)
Bennett (R-Utah)
Bond (R-Mo.)
Brownback (R-Kan.)
Cochran (R-Miss.)
Craig (R-Idaho)
Domenici (R-N.M.)
Dorgan (D-N.D.)
Durbin (D-Ill.)
Feinstein (D-Calif.)
Gregg (R-N.H.)
Harkin (D-Iowa)
Hutchison (R-Texas)
Inouye (D-Hawaii)
Johnson (D-S.D.)
Kohl (D-Wis.)
Landrieu (D-La.)
Lautenberg (D-N.J.)
Leahy (D-Vt.)
McConnell (R-Ky.)
Mikulski (D-Md.)
Murray (D-Wash)
Nelson (D-Neb.)
Reed (D-R.I.)
Shelby (R-Ala.)
Specter (R-Pa.)
Stevens (R-Alaska)
Your message is basically that you have heard of Sen. Feinstein’s desire to attach an illegal ag worker amnesty to the Iraq spending bill and that you object. You can quickly state why any kind of amnesty is bad — particularly in the middle of a recession.
You may also point out that there is no excuse for growers hiring illegal aliens. North Carolina growers, for example, have set up a North Carolina Growers Association that meets all of the ag labor needs through local workers and through legal foreign workers brought through the H-2A visa which ensures that the guest workers go home. Why shouldn’t California growers play by the same rules as law-abiding farmers in other states?
Based on past experience, there is a good chance that Feinstein will decide not to introduce her amnesty Thursday afternoon if she feels there is a major move against it. That’s what we want. Please let every member of the committee know just how worked up citizens get as soon as they hear of a possibility of an amnesty.
PROTEST SPEAKER PELOSI’S STRONG-ARMING OF DEMOCRATS TO KEEP THEM FROM SUPPORTING THE SAVE ACT
Don’t let anybody kid you about what is happening with the SAVE Act efforts to stop outlaw businesses from hiring illegal aliens.
North Carolina Democrat Heath Shuler’s SAVE Act is an incredible threat to the unscrupulous and unpatriotic businesses of America who insist on illegal labor to hold down their labor costs. Most business owners are not like that. But the outlaw businesses have the ear of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and of her House Democratic leadership.
Pelsosi and her team are strong-arming Democrats to make sure they do not sign the Discharge Petition that would bring the SAVE Act to the floor for a vote. They know it would easily pass if there is a vote.
Even though 49 House Democrats have co-sponsored the SAVE Act, only 10 have signed the Discharge Petition.
The other 39 Democrats have heard the message loud and clear that if they sign the petition and it gets the necessary 218 signatures to force a vote, those Democrats should not count on any favors or help for their congressional Districts from the House leaders. In a sense, they are being threatened with being shunned by their Party.
Our Action Buffet team has put up a fax for every one of you to send to your own Representative to break Pelosi’s intimidation racket. Please take the actions related to this that you will find on your corkboard.
THANKS,
P.S. We can triple our membership quickly if our members email their friends about us and they in turn email theirs. Polls show that most Americans agree with NumbersUSA’s positions but, despite our recent rapid growth, most American voters still have never heard of us. You can help change that by forwarding this email widely. (Note: depending on your email provider, you may need to send this as an “attachment.”)
Hold on a Second, Sweetie Barack Obama’s “Sweetie-Gate.”
A glib, regrettable way to talk to a fully-grown woman he’d never met before. And whatever his initial motive (or lack thereof), Obama realized such pretty quickly, and apologized yesterday to the WXYZ reporter via voicemail
“Hi Peggy. This is Barack Obama. I’m calling to apologize on two fronts. One was you didn’t get your question answered and I apologize. I thought that we had set up interviews with all the local stations. I guess we got it with your station but you weren’t the reporter that got the interview. And so, I broke my word. I apologize for that and I will make up for it. Second apology is for using the word ’sweetie.’ That’s a bad habit of mine. I do it sometimes with all kinds of people. I mean no disrespect and I am duly chastened on that front. Feel free to call me back. I expect that my press team will be happy to try to make it up to you whenever we are in Detroit next.”
