IS AMERICA’S BLACK CHURCH REALLY SICK?

Grant Swank* | April 29, 2008

J. Grant Swank, Jr.

I thought that the black American church was one that we could count on to help save the Republic from destruction.

Perhaps I have been sadly naïve.

It seems according to the Jeremiah Spites that the black church has gone to the devil.

Are there actually black preachers out there proclaiming Christ as personal Savior, offering His grace to repentant souls, declaring that their sins are indeed forgiven and forgotten by a compassionate God?

Are there black pastors who deliver messages of healing of soul? Do they remind their parishioners that God is still on the throne, that the world must answer to Him, that there is hope in Christ’s indwelling presence?

Do they preach sermons laden with the divine promises, promises that God cannot dismiss or forget? When God promises never to forsake His own, He does not forsake His own. God keeps His word.

Are there black churches filled with genuine praise and joy? Do those parishioners know the infilling of the Holy Spirit? Are they acquainted with Easter glow?

That’s what the Lord expects of His divinely called ministers. When Christ invites one to be his gospel preacher, Christ provides him with the Scriptures’ simple plan of salvation. Then there is the Scriptures’ Way—that is, the journey outlined for living the life victorious.

I don’t get any of this from Jeremiah Spite and clones. All I get from them is despair and anger. They have manufactured this carnal theology called “Black Liberation Theology.” It is demonic. It is not of God and the Bible.

These huskers have declared hatred against whites. They have damned America. They have fought off the Republic’s liberties. They have doomed their listeners—not liberated them—to a culture that is out to slay them, one by one.

All of this hate and fear has been sprouting black onions from the damned spirits of black screamers called “preachers.”

But God does not produce black onions with damned spirits. God produces souls redeemed by the blood of the Lamb, given to rejoicing in the fact that “all things work together for good to those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose.”

Is there any black church out there that is genuinely well? Or is the sick black church spread across this land?

Someone tell me. I really want to know.
