Immigration March Planned for May 1st

Valley activists unveiled their plans for next month’s immigration rights march through Downtown Fresno.
They say it’s a chance to bring awareness to a major problem that often goes ignored. Organizers say they have several surprises in store for this one, but they plan on keeping those a secret until May 1st.
They hope by banding together, a broken system will finally get fixed.
Ten thousand people march through Downtown Fresno nearly two years ago as part of a nationwide call for immigration reform.
Immigrants and their supporters banded together to demand change. That same scene is what these organizers hope to see again next month.
Monday, March coordinator Leonel Flores laid out the route for this year’s march. It will start at Fulton Mall near Tulare Street, then wind its way to City Hall and back.
Flores blames the system for tearing thousands of families apart, but says there is hope for real change.
