GULFPORT — A federal agency today placed a hold on a driver who was involved in a fatal crash in Harrison County over the weekend. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Ramon Acenscio Cornejo, a native of El Salavador, after the Sun Herald made phone calls inquiring on whether he has legal documentation to be in this country. ICE spokesman Temple Black confirmed a hold was placed on Cornejo, 30, at the Harrison County jail. A hold means a pre-trial detainee cannot be released until the reason for the detainer is resolved.
