When We Value Items More Than Our Children
J.J. Jackson | March 18, 2008
Unfortunately, too many people value material possessions more than they value their children. And when it comes time to chose between their possessions and their children, well they take more offense when their possessions are damaged.
PHILADELPHIA—A man who killed his 17-month-old daughter in a rage over a broken Xbox was sentenced to more than two decades in prison.Prosecutors said Tyrone Spellman, 27, killed Alayiah Turman in September 2006 with at least five blows to the head when she pulled down his Xbox console. The force of the blows cracked the toddler’s skull several times.
A jury convicted Spellman of third-degree murder and child endangerment in January. He was sentenced Thursday to the maximum 22 1/2 to 45 years in prison.
Yeah, good response there you idiot. Child breaks Xbox so retarded dad breaks his child. Video game consoles can be fixed and replaced. You can’t fix a dead child.
This man got off too lightly if you ask me. He should get the same fate as the one he gave to his daughter.
