John Coleman Continues To Take On Enviro-Marxists
J.J. Jackson | March 8, 2008
Al Gore’s consensus continues to fall apart around him. John Coleman, founder of the Weather Channel, has been a particularly persistent thorn in his side:
The Weather Channel has lost its way, according to John Coleman, who founded the channel in 1982.Coleman told an audience at the 2008 International Conference on Climate Change on March 3 in New York that he is highly critical of global warming alarmism.
“The Weather Channel had great promise, and that’s all gone now because they’ve made every mistake in the book on what they’ve done and how they’ve done it and it’s very sad,” Coleman said. “It’s now for sale and there’s a new owner of The Weather Channel will be announced – several billion dollars having changed hands in the near future. Let’s hope the new owners can recapture the vision and stop reporting the traffic, telling us what to think and start giving us useful weather information.”
The Weather Channel has been an outlet for global warming alarmism. In December 2006, The Weather Channel’s Heidi Cullen argued on her blog that weathercasters who had doubts about human influence on global warming should be punished with decertification by the American Meteorological Society.
Coleman also told the audience his strategy for exposing what he called “the fraud of global warming.” He advocated suing those who sell carbon credits, which would force global warming alarmists to give a more honest account of the policies they propose.
Ah yes, Ms. Cullen. Or Comrade Cullen as I like to call her. I remember her idiocy well in particular.
The response from the Enviro-Marxists who are seeing what they once thought would be their key to power vanishing? Simple. Don’t you know it’s not “Global Warming” anymore? Now it’s “Climate Change”.
Since the climates “change” on a regular basis now they think they have found their perfect issue. Now if it warms up – man is to blame. If it cools down – man is to blame. Perfect! Even though they still haven’t figured out how to explain why the Earth was so warm long before humans showed up. But I’m sure they’ll have some “logical” answer to that.

Precession, Nutation, and Global Warming
If you look at the TOBA YTT site and go to the effect of Volcanic eruptions on Global Temperatures for 600 years, you’ll be able to discern a periodicity of about 76 years in world temperatures. The earth precesses about its axis over tens-of-thousands of years with a nutation (nodding) of about ten degress with a period of 18.6 years. One might note that 18.6 yrs X two (37.4 yrs) is half a nutation cycle, with a full cycle being about 75 years; close to the period of temperature change noted at the Toba site. A nutation would bring different hemispheres of the earth more or less sunlight for periods of 37.4 yrs. The southern hemisphere has relatively more water than the northern hemisphere. And since water has a higher heat capacity than terra firma, it would hold the heat better and transmit it to the oceans and around the Globe. When the Northern hemisphere was heated more, it would heat up faster and cool faster. One half cycle would yeild higher temperatures and the other would be cooler. This appears at first glance to be a better explanation for the minor world temperature increase since the mid 1970’s (when the “Experts” were predicting a coming Ice Age). Taking this cycle into account and that the earth’s temperature changed slightly from cooling to warming in 1976, we can expect the “Experts” to start predicting another Ice Age in 2013.
