Feeling Pain At The Pump?
J.J. Jackson | March 9, 2008
Well, next time you are paying over $3.00 for a gallon of gasoline, just remember that nearly $0.50 of that price is going to federal and state tax coffers. Take a look for yourself.
Boy, sure puts things into a certain light doesn’t it? That tank of gas I just bought at $3.19 a gallon (13.3 gallons) and a total of $42.43 really only cost about $35.68 (less $0.507 per gallon in PA and federal taxes) before the greedy government stuck their grubby little hands in my pocket to the sum of $6.75. Times 52 weeks a year that is about $351 the government got for doing basically nothing. Got to love the politicians!
