The McCain campaign continues to perpetuate its Big Lie in the run-up to Super Tuesday. And thanks to MSM enablers and open-borders Republicans rooting for a McCain win, voters are swallowing the Big Lie. The Big Lie is that McCain can be trusted on immigration and border security

..
You want straight talk? McCain’s tongue says he’s “listened and learned.” But his heart is with La Raza, the militantly ethnocentric, anti-immigration enforcement Hispanic lobbying group that honored him in 1999 and whose annual conference he keynoted in 2004.

The Anti-America McCainiac would give the voters a choice of 2 evils, virtually indistinguishable: McCainiac or Hitlery

While I fully understand the angst of Conservatives in their policy opposition to John McCain blunders like Illegal immigration, Conservatives are beginning to amaze me in their inability to see the larger picture.

Many talk radio hosts have battled a McCain nomination. Even Focus On The Family Director Dr. Dobson (who I admire ) has declared his refusal to vote for McCain. This astonishes me because it’s the same as saying “if I don’t get the conservative I want, I’ll let the country go to hell in a hand basket:” This, in my opinion is very naive and unthoughtful – since our children will be growing up in the aftermath of such a decision.

Anti McCain pundits and commentators such as Rush Limbaugh have ventured the idea that perhaps we should sit this election out and let the Dems have a term in office, claiming it might pave the way for a future shot at a candidate he and others will like in four years.

While I understand these expressions of dismay, I think it’s shortsighted. Imagine the damage our country will endure if Democrats control all three branches of government for 4 to 8 years. .

This would give liberals what they will treat as a clear sign from America that is it ready to move sharply to the left. Conservatism will lose most of it’s teeth and the liberal agenda could easily reverse all of the progress we’ve made in the war on terror, Tax reduction, Pro Life, and other extremely important issue.

We can always address the issue of immigration again in 4 years. What we cannot afford to see happen is a liberal agenda that makes illegal immigration the least of our country’s problems. Our country may be so torn up, it won’t have the time to even visit the issue, like we can today.

There is no such thing as a quick recovery from 4 years of liberalism unchecked. We may be facing what will take years and years of damage to undo. What’s more, there’s no guarantee that it WILL be undone. The passage of even one single liberal law is extremely difficult to outlaw – as if Roe V Wade hasn’t taught us this already!

Rush Limbaugh and others may revel in 4 years of liberal destruction as a talk radio host who can use the material, however all it takes is one liberal judge appointed to the Supreme Court to unravel the one ace we’ve achieved in the last 8 years. This doesn’t occur to me as a smart decision for Conservatives to be making..

As Evangelical Conservatives know, Pride commeth before the fall, and I hope they will study that verse before deciding to approach this election with dismay rather than enthusiasm.

Questioning McCain was right and highly useful for a time and a season. But there are greater threats looming on our horizon than John McCain.

It’s time to put our differences aside and get with the business assuring our children, they will not grow up in a socialist, liberally dominated world. This may be our cross roads, and it is certainly no time to be staying home on Election Day.

What it is time for is the liberal socialist Republicans who are supporting John McCain to stop demanding that constitutionalists, conservatives and libertarians simply fall in line and support their candidate of choice.

Some times you have to hit rock bottom before you are willing to change for the better rather than for change sake or stay with the status quo.

Conservatives won’t stay home on election day. But they may not vote for McCain either. I won’t. I know Jeff won’t. Ron has said he won’t. And no amount of begging and rationalization by you or others who are willing to accept McCain’s socialist ideas over either Hillary’s or Obama’s because you think we should is changing that stance.

Mr. Vice has eloquently stated what is at stake in this election. If Mr. MCain is elected, he certainly won’t have free reign with respect to the volatile issues which many strict conservatives are concerned about. The Party will not allow him to act in a “socialist” manner with respect to domestic issues and I don’t believe he would do so anyway. If socialist practices are a concern, I would suggest a closer look at Hillary Clinton for a socialist agenda and mindset. Giving Clinton or Obama an opportunity to possibly win this election by not supporting McCain out of irrational angst is an extremely scary prospect.

The primary responsibility of our President is defense of this country particularly at this time in the war on terror. Personally, I would sleep better at night with McCain at the helm as opposed to Clinton or Obama. The domestic matters will be handled by the forces of our party.

I implore angry conservatives to take a deep breath and reason out the situation. Should you sit on the sidelines and allow a democratic takeover, I don’t think you would sleep well with the rock bottom that might ensue.

Open the borders even wider! I need those little brown people to cut my lawn and keep my condo fees on Hilton Head down. Ain’t it just like the compassionate, caring people in this country to establish a permanent slave class.

Also, the conditions in Mexico will never improve to prevent , as Castro called the Marielitos, the dumping of the “Escoria” north of the border. Our southern neighbor is in very serious political trouble which they seem to be unwilling to remedy. As long as these problems don’t affect the elite in Mexico City, nothing will change.

I’m tired of being told by people that I should be compromising with the moderate, socialists who have come to the Republican Party because the Democratic Party is too socialist for them.

I’ve been told this same line for far too many years. It’s time the moderate socialists start compromising with us instead. And who knows, you might actually enjoy the liberty we will bring to America if you’d give it a chance rather than just perpetuating socialism.

  6. Carol Pauper on February 9th, 2008 8:54 am

Well, it certainly didn’t take very long for the McCain bots to start trying to rally support behind their man that has worked to destroy our sovereignty and our rights.

“Mr. Vice has eloquently stated what is at stake in this election.”

Don’t make me laugh. What Mr. Vice has done is regurgitate “eloquently” the standard talking points that the McCain bots are going to try to use between now and election day to get conservatives to forgive him for pissing on the first amendment and calling us falsely racists for not agreeing to allowing illegal criminals to be allowed a path to US citizenship.

“I implore angry conservatives to take a deep breath and reason out the situation. Should you sit on the sidelines and allow a democratic takeover, I don’t think you would sleep well with the rock bottom that might ensue.”

There we go again. For AGAINST the democrats. Not FOR McCain. Nothing but fear mongering. No wonder America is going down hill. Too many people like you are not willing to fight. Thank God our founding fathers weren’t such utter pussies.

I’m fighting. So get ready for battle.

J.J., I assume this is your article:This is my hill since it is also written by J.J. Jackson and on a site that links here.

I want to say bravo. You summed up exactly how I, as a long lived libertarian feel. It would do the people now telling us that we have to support McCain or suffer some good to read. Like Carol said, I am willing to suffer to better this country. Our forefathers did it, you seem ready to do it and I am willing to plant on that hill with you and defend this country!

  8. RonniesRayGun (moderator) on February 9th, 2008 9:33 pm

K – since you brought up Jeff’s article this week, I just want to say that I also agree with him and he sums up exactly how we all feel:

“It will not be easy. There will be suffering. There will be pain. There will be blood spilled this day and probably for many days, months and years to come. We may even enter into terrible darkness and the deepest of winters and fear that all is lost. But to make things better I am willing to suffer. If I am not, then the enemy has already won and defeated me.

This is my hill and I claim it for Lady Liberty. This is where I make my stand for what is right. And John McCain? He will never have my vote. Promises today and deathbed conversions cannot undo the history he has.

To Hell with worrying if anyone else has the courage to stand by my side and fight. The only way you are taking this hill is over my dead body. Today is a good day to die, but since I don’t plan on dying on this hill, that means there is only one question to ask of those about to charge over this hill and try to take it. Are you willing to die on this hill trying to take it from not just me but all the other Americans you are about to come face to face with?”

I just want to say to you publicly SEMPER FI BROTHER! I want you by my side! I wish you had been there in the jungles of Vietnam because we needed people with this very attitude!

I’ll die on that hill with you if I have to but we’re not going to die. We’re going to win this battle and start a counter offensive the likes of which the liberals in this country have never seen!
